love and politics mixed together
valix22 December 2003
A Lost Letter is the story of love and politics mixed together. Zoe Trahanache loses a love letter addressed to her lover, a subordinate of her husband, the letter ends up in the hands on Catavencu, a political enemy that intends to blackmail her for political advantages. The story mixes up, enemies become friends and everything closes with a character that many of us identify with: The Drunk Citizen.

little more than a play adaptation

for few generation, it is the best adaptation of Caragiale play. not only for story or acting. but for details. the couple Mariana Mihuț - Victor Rebengiuc, the splendid performance of Octavian Cotescu, Agamiță Dandanache created by Forry Eterle, Ștefan Bănică in a exemplary Pristanda clothes are more than characters/actors because Caragiale himself represents, in Romanian culture , more than a play writer.and it is not a surprise because the work of I. L. Caragiale is the best mirror for Romanian manner to survive to history challenges. in same measure, the film role was complex in its period because, it was a source of fresh air, form of resistance in gray years, great acting demonstration, an instrument against ideological pressure.a play. and an admirable show.

classic
Kirpianuscus9 December 2018
Adaptation of one of the most familiar play by Ion Luca Caragiale. Classic for the actors. For the nuances of performances. For the science of director to propose the ultimate version. Because, for each Romanian viewer, the work of Liviu Ciulei is more than a masterpiece. It is not only a question of art but resistence against dictatorship in subtle and precise manner. A sort of profound mark for a large public on a play who, decade by decade, remains more actual. B>ecause it is a lovely embroidery of politic and love affaire, imorality and naivety, struggle for power and provincialism. But the most important aspect remains the fact than Stefan Banica,Octavian Cotescu, Victor Rebengiuc, Mariana Mihut, Petre Gheorghiu or Forry Eterle are, after 41 years, the perfect choices for the roles of Gita Pristanda,Nae Catavencu, Stefan Tipatescu, Zoe Trahanache, Zaharia Trahanache or Agamemnon Dandanache.A legendar play. And a classic version of it.
