acting surprised to see this get such a low rating. watched almost every episode when it was on sabc. really enjoyed it. found the acting good and honest. technically it wasn't the best but i don't think the guys who made it wanted that glossy feel of all the American soap operas. watched the recent UK reunion series which was loads of fun and brought back brilliant memories. i think for a south African production they did a good job. really a pity they didn't make another series. i think the local actors were great. saw that the lead girl, Kwezi, is now in Isidingo. She's hot... The guys were good too, especially Miles and the gay guy.

A lame imitation of an excellent BBC drama series

Having watched the British counterpart a few years back, I was looking forward to the SA spin on it. Well ... four episodes later and I cringe in embarrassment. The cast looks uncomfortable and ill at ease. The only shining light here is the character Kwezi (Anna in the BBC series). Jabu on the other hand is asinine where Egg was lovable. That's the problem with this remake : the characters are flawed and annoying where with the BBC production, they were lovable: warts and all.
SABC should have bought the UK package and saved themselves a lot of trouble. I fall in what I suspect is the target audience but most of my peers gave up watching after episode 1 (The Attack of the Drones).
