With a mix of music and animation, Shropshire based gardeners talk about their love for growing sweet peas, what they look for in a good crop and the rigours of competition.
It is very difficult to write a plot summary for what is essentially a collage of dialogue, visuals and music - hence my rather poor attempt at a synopsis! The film is a musical soundtrack played over animation of people, words, plants and a mix of images all drawn in colourful and pleasing shapes. The music is pretty heavy and gets an enjoyable rhythm going behind it but it is the rest of the film that makes it.
The animation is quite bring and cheerful and compliments the beat of the music pretty well. The dialogue is nothing inspiring but is mixed in well with the rest of the short - it would have been better if it had been more interesting words but they do the job I suppose.
Overall this is not worth hunting down but it is nicely enjoyable for what it is. The animation is colourful and bright and the music is catchy if you like that style of music. Only a shame that the real life dialogue didn't have a bit more spark to it than it did; but I guess that's the price of using real interviews with dull old Shropshire gardeners!
