The concept here is that Oddgeir Bruaset, a guy with an old school Norwegian dialect, travels around in Norway, visiting solitary old men and strange families who live in the bottom of isolated fjords, or clawing to steep hills hundreds of feet above yet other fjords. My favorite episode featured a retired school teacher who lived with his dog and horse in the bottom of a fjord far north in Norway. This guy was the essence of cool. If he was bored or unoccupied he simply erected a new house of some sort on his farm. In the weekends he often went out in the woods to camp, and this was when he was the most happy. In another scene he was in the sauna, and then he ran straight out into the icy river and did chin ups on a low reaching branch. The next day he said that he had just worn out his favorite shirt, and he then went on the recite a poem about the shirt that he had written in its honor. It had served him well he concluded. This show mostly kicks ass.
