Odd that the movie makes fun of bad movies.....
revelinit6 August 2007
Apologies to the writer/lead actor. He is VERY attractive and reasonably charming. I think if given a decent chance, could be a good actor. And SOME of the writing he did for this movie is pretty good. Witty at times, but at others PAINFULLY bad. This movie has a scene where they make fun of a badly made "filmed on Video" movie. Maybe it was intentional, but this movie looks like it was filmed on SonyDVDCam, the production values were "Porn" like. Bad lighting, boring sets, and overall, just BORING. The premise of the film is a cute idea, but fairly poorly developed. They do two REALLY bad episodes of their program to get "Pledges" and suddenly they can afford a mansion and porches? I think maybe something got edited for time. Either, way, I gave up at what I HOPE was better than halfway (it felt like an eternity). I would really not suggest even bothering to rent/buy/steal this movie. I will give it to the Mr Eisenger, it's a better written and acted movie than I could make at home, but then, it still looks like a movie he made at home. Clever premise, badly done, acting was atrocious for all actors and in most scenes. TRUE STINKER.

Independent Film, not a multi-million dollar Blockbuster
crookedfingerllc22 August 2007
This is an Independent film, not a multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbuster. I guess since it's available on Netflix and other websites, some people expect the world of the film, but really it's a testament to the cast and crew that a distributor and a film festival found this piece entertaining enough to put it next to the likes of "Office Space", "Star Wars", and "The Godfather", to name a few of the thousands of other films at Netflix. The film, not video, was made in ten days with all but no crew for under $30K, so before you rip it completely apart, think of how few things you can do anymore for that kind of money. Ask a thousand other aspiring filmmakers if they would like to see their independent film up at Netflix, even if people will shred it apart, and I'm sure you will get a yes every time. It's not "Jaws" people, and it's not claiming to be…it's a fun independent film that you will enjoy if you expect a low budget character piece with a great cast and a good moral to the story.
