Face's high-rise apartment complex was in fact the recently completed Arco Center, a pair of 460,000-square-foot Class A office towers at 200 and 300 Oceangate in downtown Long Beach, California. In 2011 the Arco Center was sold to Molina Healthcare and was rechristened the Molina Center.
Face impersonating the mysterious "Mr. Tony" and the reference to "Mr. Yerkovich" might have been broad winks at Anthony Yerkovich, who at this time was a regular writer for Hill Street Blues (1981) and who would soon became best known for creating the blockbuster series Miami Vice (1984).
American Ninja connections: John Fujioka (General Chow) played Joe Armstrong's ninja mentor in American Ninja (1985), and Marjoe Gortner (Lt. Tom Angel) played the main villain "The Cobra" in American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt (1989).
