- Rob becomes the victim of undying gratitude and amorous attentions when he elevates a talented young chorus girl to a featured role on the show.
- Laura steams when she sees Rob smooched by an 18-year-old beauty whom Rob elevated from the chorus to a featured turn on the Alan Brady Show. Insecure producer Mel wigs out at head writer Rob Petrie, too, but for usurping his meager nepotic duties. In contrast, dancer Joan gushes her undying passion for Rob, which the too-nice gag-man is at a loss for words to combat. Miffed wife Laura supplies Rob's dialogue to put this puppy love to sleep before her flattered hubby succumbs to this girl's recipe for love.—David Stevens
- As a favor and in thinking she's talented, Rob suggests that one of the show's chorus girls, eighteen-year-old Joan Delroy, be featured in one of the show's sketches. Part of Joan's thanks to Rob is a kiss on the lips, which Laura sees. Rob thinks Laura's jealous, but Laura in turn says she isn't, knowing that Joan is in love with him. Rob quickly begins to think the same thing and wants advice from Laura, Buddy and Sally on how best to dissuade starry-eyed Joan. When Rob's aggressive approach with Joan doesn't have quite the effect he was hoping for, Laura thinks Joan's actions may have some ulterior motive. It's up to Rob to find out what it is to stopper her seeming infatuation with him with a final interaction that also doesn't have quite the effect he was hoping for.—Huggo
