I may be bias to the show and particularly this episode because I had the wonderful good fortune to be on the set during one of the scenes for "Line of Fire". I was 20 years old and was called as an extra for the scene in which "Izzy" is running away from Philip Michael Thomas and Michael Talbot on Miami Beach. "(Ocean Drive between 8th & 14th ave). It took the entire day to shoot this scene which can't be more than 3 minutes long. I met Kevin Major Howard who was the guest on the show, you may remember him from Full Metal Jacket. I also met Talbot and Thomas who were very friendly. Unfortunately Don Johnson was not in this scene and I did not travel to the hospital for the evening shoot which did have Don in the scene. (I regret not going still) In the scene you can see me in various positions in camera frame. I'm 1st seen on the beach throwing a frisbee to a girl. I'm seen again catching. The action then turns to the 2 cops talking at an open café when they jump the wall you can see me sitting at the table behind them looking surprised at their sudden movements. My brown 1981 Datsun 200sx is parked on the street which can be seen. Then when the shooting starts you can see me ducking off to the side with the girl I'm with. Allot of action for 1 extra in a quick scene. The episode was one of the best in this final season. Crockett and Tubbs have to protect this young, cocky guy who would rather party than be kept under protective custody. Crockett and Tubbs have to chase after him when he slips out of his hotel room to go to a club. The "bad guys" try a few times to knock off this kid before he can testify. The duo try their best to protect him. Exciting episode with a twist at the end. It will be hard for me to see the new Miami Vice movie without these original stars playing the parts they created.
