- The Munsters rent their house to a rock group.
- Eddie comes up with a new taste in music: Rock. He plays a song on the phonograph, but Herman and Grandpa are not fans. Later, the manager for The Standells (a real-life band of the 1960's), is looking for unique accommodations for the group while they are playing in town. He finds the Munster mansion just the right place for something "far out," and offers the family $1500 to rent the house for one weekend. Herman and Grandpa don't like the idea initially, but Lily suggests that the money would be good to pay some debts. Herman ultimately agrees, and the family is sent to a posh hotel as part of the deal. Unfortunately, so much elegance doesn't fit with the family's taste. They quickly leave the hotel and return home. They find The Standells having a live music party, with guests representing the counter-culture of the 1960's. After finding the Standells' music distasteful at first, Herman, Grandpa, and Lily warm up to it during the band's rendition of The Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand" (a #1 hit song that year in America.) The guests, unaware the Munsters are the homeowners, invite them to join the entertainment of music and poetic recital. Herman's comical attempt at inspired poetry is followed by Lily, who sings a romantic song. The party leaves the living room in shambles, however, the Munsters are unfazed. The simple plot line takes a back seat to the musical performances of the Standells and Yvonne DeCarlo.—Alejandro Frias and LB
