Guest star Richard Kind as it turns out is Streisand's step cousin, here playing an old classmate of Fran's who had a crush on her even though she rejected him in high school. Ironically, she has given Brighton a hard time for turning down his class geek (Bonnie Morgan) for a school dance so it's an interesting analogy of right and wrong and hypocrisy. We learn more about Maxwell's rivalry with Andrew Lloyd Webber thanks to a slam to the musical "Cats". A funny minor subplot has Maggie crushing on her ballet teacher whom Fran has to explain the truth about. That's veteran actor Jay Robinson ("The Robe") as the prissy matre d.
