Good parts....but not up to NR's level of quality.
Lauren Graham character is annoying.
And still not a fan of Maura Tierney.
Bright spots are Any Dick and Phil Hartman.
Matthew playing a dentist...and Bill being over the top with his Real Deal with Bill McNeil spots.
Could be a 7...but other News Radio episodes I rated a 7 are better than this....sooooo...something had to give.
One of those episodes that the 4 to 5 minutes of Bill and Matthew are way better than the whole 22 minutes.
Oh....that's right. NBC wanted story arcs that spanned episodes...I guess to keep people coming back?? I get it.... But News Radio is WAY stronger when they're able to do whatever the hell they want instead of having to devote x amount of attention to some stupid plot.
I have no idea if the multi network plot was network's idea/mandate.. But I think I remember hearing something about that...and thinking of this episode, that would make sense.
I'm so upset.
Some good stuff in season 1 and 2...but they really hit their stride in 3.
Then this multi episode plot not as good...and as much as I want to like it...season 5 without Phil is just not the same.
Essentially...this is the last season.
I don't count season 5.
