In "The Face Painter", Jerry accepts tickets to a playoff hockey game from a friend. He takes Kramer, Elaine, and Puddy along with him. Elaine's not sure she can date Puddy anymore after he paints his face for the game. Jerry doesn't get tickets to the next game after refusing the "next day thank you call". George thinks he's in love with the woman he's dating and debates whether or not to tell her he loves her. Kramer feuds with a monkey at the zoo after it throws a banana peel at him.
I really love the comedy surrounding the concept of the "next day thank you call." This is one of those social pleasantries that I've always despised (along with the thank you letter) as something that is unnecessary in modern society and Seinfeld hits it on the head in this episode. I also always love George's date topics, this time it's the ever-present toilet paper roll.
The whole subplot involving the catholic priest seeing the devil in the form of Puddy and the Virgin Mary in the form of Elaine seems kind of useless. It is barely touched upon and seems like 2 minutes of filler in the episode. Besides this, solid episode.
