Christopher (Michael Imperioli) shoots a bakery clerk in the foot because he perceives him to be disrespectful. In Goodfellas (1990), Imperioli's character was shot in the foot for the very same reason. When the clerk cries loudly about his foot, Christopher says "it happens," likely as an inside joke referencing the film.
Joseph R. Gannascoli appears as a bakery customer named Gino. In season 2, he would begin appearing as recurring character Vito Spatafore.
In the meat market dream sequence, the "now serving" number behind Chris says 34. Later in the episode where Chris is in the bakery where he shoots the kid in the foot, Christopher reveals he was next in line because he had ticket number 34.
