- Ensign Samantha Wildman: [considering different names for her unborn child] What do you think of Cameron?
- Kes: Oh, I like it.
- The Doctor: Cameron - from the ancient Celtic term for "one whose nose is bent."
- Ensign Samantha Wildman: Well, what about Frederick?
- The Doctor: Frederick - very distinguished; however, it bears a close resemblance to a rather... impolite term on the Bolian home world.
- Ensign Samantha Wildman: Well, it doesn't have to be a human name. I like Sural. It's Vulcan.
- The Doctor: Yes. Unfortunately it was also the name of a dictator on Sakura Prime, famed for beheading his rivals - and his parents.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: I was so sure that I had anticipated everything that could possibly go wrong. I even programmed it to warn Federation ships to stay out of its way - in my own voice.
- Lt. Tom Paris: *Your* voice?
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: Listening to that Cardassian computer's voice was driving me crazy.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: [breathing hard] Who would have thought... two years ago... after all those weeks we spent together, perfecting your program... that we'd end up out here... trying to kill each other?
- Dreadnought (voice): This vessel is programmed to respond with all necessary force to prevent any disruption to its mission.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: [about Dreadnought] I was so glad when it disappeared into the Badlands. I remember thinking, "Thank God, it's over," but it's not, and if anything happens here because of Dreadnought... it's my fault. No one else's.
- Cardassian ATR-4107 (voice): Cardassian ATR-4107 attempting to activate systems.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: I never thought I'd be glad to hear that voice again.
- [Dreadnought is analyzing the voice of the Cardassian ATR back-up file]
- Dreadnought (voice): Unable to identify.
- Cardassian ATR-4107 (voice): Attempting to activate systems.
- Dreadnought (voice): No additional presence detected.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: Check those diagnostics, Dreadnought. You're talking to yourself. I believe you're having an identity crisis.
- Dreadnought (voice): Probability assessment indicates you are attempting to detonate the explosive before it reaches its target.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: [laughs] Now, that wouldn't make much sense, would it? I'd be killing myself in the process.
- Dreadnought (voice): Probability assessment indicates you are attempting to detonate the explosive before it reaches its target.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: If I'm being coerced by Cardassians, why would I be willing to sacrifice myself for them? Answer that one!
- Dreadnought (voice): Unable to respond. Reassessing probabilities.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: A-ha. Got you!
- The Doctor: I wanted to advise you that I took the liberty of beaming Lieutenant Torres from the transporter room to sickbay. She is somewhat singed around the edges but should make a complete recovery.
- Lt. Tom Paris: [to Torres] You know, I've been surprised at how well you've been able to fit in here. A little envious, too.
- Dreadnought (voice): The probability of being in the Delta Quadrant, 75,000 light years from last confirmed location, is negligible.
- [Torres is desperately attempting to beam over to Dreadnought]
- Ensign Harry Kim: Don't worry, we'll find a way to get you back over there.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: We wouldn't have to if I'd done my job right the first time.
- Ensign Harry Kim: You couldn't expect to guess every move it made.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: Why not? Dreadnought seems pretty good at guessing mine.
- Dreadnought (voice): Analysis of your vital signs suggests you are about to lose consciousness, B'Elanna.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: I'm not going anywhere, until I'm finished.
- Dreadnought (voice): When you cease your efforts to breach the containment field, life support will be restored.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: No deal!
- Dreadnought (voice): Perhaps your Delta Quadrant hypothesis deserves further consideration.
- Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: [chuckles] Nice try.
