Mystery guest Horst Buchholz and panelist Arlene Francis had co-starred in the political comedy film 'One, Two, Three (1961)', which was released on December 15, 1961, in the U.S, to poor box office receipts.
The first contestant, traffic engineer and recently appointed New York City Traffic commissioner Henry Barnes, was responsible for many innovations, including the 'Green Wave' (coordinated traffic signals), actuated traffic signals (set off by the presence of an automobile or a pedestrian pushing a button), and the introduction of bus lanes.
