- TriviaThe lines that Sue Ann quotes to Lou ("Thy breath was shed upon my breast. All night upon my heart I felt a warm heart beat.") are a close paraphrase of lines in Ernest Dowson's 1894 poem "Non sum qualis eram bonae sub regno Cynarae" - "thy breath was shed / Upon my soul...All night upon mine heart I felt her warm heart beat". This poem also includes the line "I have forgot much, Cynara! gone with the wind".

Lou's Big Mistake
Lou has too much to drink and ends up spending the night with Su Ann Nivens. He is like a bull when he comes to work, unshaven, missing his socks. He finally tells Mary and she promises not to tell anyone. It doesn't take Murray long to get her to admit what Lou told her. In the newsroom, Murray lets it slip that Mary told him. This leads to Lou telling her they can not be friends any more. Ted is playing detective, missing all the obvious clues and coming to several ridiculous conclusions. Once again, this show managed to surpass just about anything on TV at the time (or any time, for that matter).
