- TriviaBooth and Brennan eat lunch in this episode at a diner in New Orleans; starting in season 2, the same set, with some redressing, becomes a regular location for the show as the fictional "Royal Diner" in DC.
- GoofsThere are 2 distinct types of voodoo practiced in New Orleans - Louisiana Voodoo and Haitian voodoo. The two types of voodoo and their beliefs are inconsistent throughout the episode. Secte Rouge is a part of Haitian voodoo. However, in Haitian voodoo, gris-gris bags are used for good, not evil. Bokors are Haitian voodoo sorcerers, however, bokors are not defined as "good" or "evil." This episode portrays all bokors as dark. Bokors are actually sorcerers for hire who can cast good or dark spells.
- Quotes
Dr. Temperance Brennan: [to murderer who is trying to put a voodoo curse on her, so she pokes him in the eye to shut him up] I've noticed that very few people are scary once they've been poked in the eye.

Believe in me
Brennan is once again on vacation - working in a morgue in New Orleans to identify bodies from Hurricane Katrina. She wakes up beaten and bruised on her bathroom floor covered in blood. Booth rushes to her side to find out what's going on. He sticks with Brennan when it becomes apparent that she commuted a really, really ugly murder.
Some good things come out of the episode: 1. We are introduced to Federal prosecutor, Caroline, who we will see very often int he upcoming years (in fact, I believe she is still a part of the show in Season 11). 2. A seed is planted for the future relationship of Jack and Angela, a relationship that is still alive and well. 3. The bond between Brennan and Booth increases. Already, this early in the show, one can see a powerful bond between these two. As in a previous episode, people are beginning to recognize this bond that greater than friendship. They do double takes when coming into a room and observing them for only a moment.
The truth that is revealed to Brennan at the end is one of a deep trust and deep bond between the two, I believe. This is another one of those episodes that's often thought about when thinking on the romance of Booth and Brennan. It's well worth the watch!
