- Business at the Littlehampton Rock Factory is slow again and the workers are often found playing cards instead of making sweets. Neville figures a publicity stunt is in order and suggests swimming the channel. But when it's time for swim practise it turns out that no one can swim, except Dorothy, who takes it upon herself to teach her half-brother how to breast-stroke. The big day brings small local reporters but it's still better than nothing. The workers cheer on as Neville jumps into the water and paddles for his life with Dorothy and Wilf chaperoning in a boat. The trip isn't very cheerful and when they land the next morning they find they are still quite a long way from France.
