After some disappointing episodes, I hoped that the 17th season gets back on track. And with this episode, it does. "No Vacancy" is my favorite of the season so far. It's not a great episode, but the mystery does impress.
Let's start with the good aspects.
. The production values of the episode are great. The music fits the scenery, the direction's solid and so is the acting.
. The mystery is very compelling this time around. There are multiple surprising twists and turns, which kept me intrigued. The solution with the congressman being guilty was satisfying enough, even though a bit more explaining couldn't have hurt.
But....
. The humor does not always land and comes off cringe-worthy at times. The romance between Bishop and Torres is awkward- just like Jimmy says:" There is no chemistry here." I do not like the romance plotline at all.
Overall, a pretty good episode.
7/10 HK.
