- Fire hazards produce fireworks as Keith lays down the law causing Matt to explode. Mitch and Mark's grand plans causes Dan to hit the roof.
- The fifteenth season of Australian reality television series The Block premiered on August 4, 2019. Hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, site foreman Keith Schleiger with Dan Reilly, and judges Neil Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer, all returned from the previous season. This year contestants are renovating a rundown backpackers accommodation, Oslo Hotel, in St Kilda, Victoria.
- Deb is having a crisis of confidence. Based on the judges' feedback, she has tweaked her style and now finds herself so far away from her original Byron Bay beachy vibe she even has a green coloured wall. Torn between the two worlds, she's stuck with which direction to approach her master bedroom this week. "I'm not changing my mind this week," Deb vows. "I'm trying to stay on task and not waste time, and not second guess myself." She heads to the shops, where she changes her mind repeatedly while shopping for bed linen. She tried. However, Deb is alone with this dip in confidence, as everyone else on The Block is having a boost of self-assurance. Jesse and Mel are bolder than ever. When the Domain data scientist comes around to offer insight on what kind of buyer the teams are building for, Jesse wastes no time sharing his own intel. "I'll educate you," he chuckles. She declines his lesson. Mitch and Mark are buoyed by her advice that there are wealthy buyers still lurking in the Melbourne market. They're so enthusiastic to kick on with their secret entertainment space, they start ripping out the ceiling without the necessary safety precautions in place. It sends Foreman Dan into a frenzy as he notices the lack of props for the ceiling. "That roof can fall down!" he says, pointing out there are people literally walking around on top of it. They're delayed while the issue is fixed. It is a disturbing first for the boys, who are always strictly on - or ahead - of schedule. In typical no-whinge fashion, they sort things out and get back to their grand ceiling. Their "evil plan" has been locked in now and with time having run out for any other Blockhead to copy their idea, the pressure is off and they can openly start working on their secret space. They even take time out to meet Kylie Minogue, because life is fabulous for House 1. Over in House 5, Mel is chugging Red Bull and calling tilers (not Jesse). She's taken on the role of project manager and it isn't going well, despite what Mel believes. "I think we are miles behind," Foreman Dan says bluntly, pointing out a number of errors in their rushed approach. Foreman Keith echoes Dan's concerns. "Thanks, Captain Obvious," Jesse retaliates. "So, how are you going to finish, Captain D---head?" Keith shoots back. Even Jesse manages to laugh. Also struggling with time is Cairns carpenter Luke. He's taken his laid-back approach to new heights, choosing to act as a courier for the day, zipping around in the car instead of using his trade qualifications to save money and expedite his build.
