Back then (1957) upscale men drove big cars, the wives wore big furs, and everybody smoked in upbeat style. All are in evidence here. Casey goes undercover among the elite to catch the jewel robbers' inside tipster. So which one is the tipster among the well-upholstered party guests she mingles with. Too bad that they all look so respectable. It's a standard episode with Garland again showing her talents, especially in what may be the tightest dress of that censorship era. How the sheath made it to the screen remains a puzzler. Anyway, aside from a poorly staged robbery scene, it's an entertaining entry, leaving me to wonder about actress Grapel as the riveting older socialite. With only seven screen credits, it looks like she preferred the stage over cameras. Still, her presence adds a lot.
