As I have written before, both good and bad news ALWAYS comes through that famous long white radio the castaways rely on.
Today's bulletin: Mr. And Mrs. Howell were married by a con man, a phony baloney.... so they are not legally married! Now what?
Veteran Gary Nelson directed this fun episode with his usual flair as its complete panic mode. Nelson at the time was also writing for PATTY DUKE, and senior writer for GET SMART.
To set the record straight; the Skipper (legally!) can marry Mr. And Mrs. Howell. Best scene has got to be the proposed wedding ceremony, where the bickering, depressed couple are supposed to be re-married on a floating raft in the middle of the lagoon?
Mrs. Howell abruptly walks out and comes the wild plan to make bride and groom jealous of each other. Can you believe Mr. Howell flirting with Ginger or Mrs. Howell flirting with the professor?
Again, you can tell the cast is having a blast with this stuff.
The age old question. Where did Mr. And Mrs. Howell get their fancy wardrobe? By the way, Mr. Howell's five doller cigar would be worth about 40 bucks in 2024. Unforgettable scene has Howell sitting in his hut, depressed, staring at a GIANT stack of money! Where did that come from?
Catch the Skipper dressed up as a crazy head hunter. Best gag scene award.
Recommended fluff for all us long time fans. From SEASON 2 EPISODE 31 remastered color dvd box set. The color print for METV is beautifully restored, even better than the original print.
