"Schooled" is not a great episode, but it is one of the stronger stories of this season.
Let's start with the good aspects.
. The production values of the episode are great. The music fits the scenery, the direction's solid and the acting is pretty good. Maria Bello gives her best performance as Sloane, she was captivating.
. The mystery is intriguing for the most part. There are a couple of good twists and the subplot about Sloane was compelling for me, made me care more about her. The sidestory with Mcgee and his college reunion is fine. There is a very good scene between Torres and McGee in this episode.
But...
. The jokes do not always land. I just do not care about Casey very much. There are parts of the story that feel "been there, done that". Especially the solution, which was pretty predictable.
Overall, quite good.
7/10 HK.
