- 1. Sucked into a Jet Engine - Persian Gulf - February 20, 1991. Petty Officer on carrier U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt survives getting too close to the jet.
2. Maritime Disaster - Indian Ocean off South Africa - August 4, 1991. Cruise ship's entertainers become heroes when captain and crew abandon sinking liner Oceanos.
3. Daredevil Down. Motorcycle 200-mph speed record attempts by the same rider two weeks apart nearly end tragically. In the first attempt at Muroc Dry Lake at Edwards Air Force Base in California on June 28, 1998, rider is dragged after dangerous wobble. In the second attempt at El Mirage Dry Lake in California on July 12 rider loses control at 200 mph and survives.
4. Falling Out of the Sky - Comoros Islands - November 23, 1996. Ethiopian Airlines pit crew thwarts hijackers when they crash land passenger plane in water in view of a resort beach.
5. Big Tank Explosion - Three Rivers, Texas - August 25, 1990. Television cameraman becomes part of the story when it's proved once again that oil fires and water don't mix.
