A delightful tour of the bizarre and contradictions in modern day India
Moss-376 November 2008
Paul Merton as always entertains us with his wit and rye observations in all four corners of India. Jet setting around the major cities and areas that are off the beaten track, we see our Paul get to grips with the truly strange and comical, to parts where poverty and harshness of life raises it's ugly head.See Film Makers create silly films for less then £500 quid,Trannies forcing money from poor old shop keepers,or they strip their clothes off!To many Record breaking novices who are obsessed with breaking new world records in much about everything! Never too thought provoking or judge mental of Indian society, this series is a delight, showing many surprising and more often then not, uplifting aspects in India going through change from the old visions conjured up from the past.

Paul shows the most

After "Shocking Asia", it's not so easy to amuse a viewer with something of this region but Paul Merton did!

It's nice to travel virtually, see an absolutely strange place to an extent of a such acquaintance that no need to spend a good deal of money to go there to in person :) !

Offensive Racist video made in conjunction with Colonial Indian sellouts
hsriniva18 November 2012
This documentary is a mockery of India -a gross racist trivialization of the Indian culture! Who the hell is Priya Warwick. Who told this "expert" on Indian etiquette Priya Warwick that you need to force a burp loudly to show appreciation. Who are these Indian sellouts devoid of any pride in their culture who claim to be Indian and say what these Western colonial-nostalgists want to hear.

I am not offended by the existence of the Naked denunciates or the peculiar rat temple. What is appalling is the terribly offensive and trivial interpretation of the beliefs of this diverse country of a million religions - the trivialization of the sanyasi culture, reincarnation, eating by hand(which is good in a country of 100 rivers that provide abundant water at room temperature; I have lived in the West for 10 years but never understood how wiping and scraping your ass with the best quality toilet paper can be cleaner than washing with water and soap!) The other woman guide Ruchira Gupta is is ever more offensive and obsessed with sex. She claims Shiva is the god of Creation and is obsessed with titillating the western audiences with sexual interpretations of Hindu myths.
