So annoying
eyewin-8832720 November 2020
I really wanted to watch this show because the concept of it seem really interesting. Unfortunately I just can't stand the over dramatic acting it just ruins the whole thing. Not fun not cute, annoying like finger nails on a chalkboard.

Most obnoxious woman on the face of the earth.

Good grief, HGTV. Where'd you find this obnoxious, childish whirlwind of noise?

Shocking! A renovation running behind
Lamiasorellina9 August 2021
So I watched this show because Sambuca di Sicilia is where my great great grandma was born and lived prior to immigrating to the US. I thought this would be a great show to watch to get a taste of one of the cities in Sicily where my family is from.

Yes, the main person is annoying and over the top but, whatever, it happens. My main annoyance came with how she treated the contractor. She got so mad over things he had no control over like needing to repair a leak or when parts arrived that were shipped from outside Sicily. She was particularly over the top about the kitchen not being done on time. NEWS FLASH, it's a renovation. They are NEVER done on time. Why are you inviting your family out for immediately after it's supposed to be done? Chill out and plan for some extra time.

Show is extremely deceptive , no one is buying the drama over the budget...there is no way this actor is worried about money

It's NOT an Adventured if it's Heavily Financed
leftbanker-129 December 2020
A vanity project in every sense. I've never understood why this sort of Under the Tuscan Sun thing is so fascinating. It's carpentry and plumbing, people. It might be a bit interesting if she had done it all on her own, but just like UTTS, she just orders around a bunch of workers.

Another bourgeois bore remodels an old villa. Yawn. This is so boring that I almost fainted five minutes into it. She doesn't speak much Italian and she seems totally clueless about all things Italian. So, my question is this: why would anyone care to hear her talk? The answer is that most people would rather not listen to her.

This reminds me of so many British TV programs in which a blabbermouth host walks through unscripted scenes where nothing interesting happens or will happen. I live in a place where people do this sort of thing every day. At least half of my friends live in remodeled homes and I had to pretend to listen to them talk about their problems. This show I can simply turn off.

Lorraine Bracco shines!
landynthornton30 June 2024
I recently watched this amazing show and it left me in awe. As a big fan of Lorraine Bracco, I knew I had to watch this show, and I was extremely pleased with it. There were a few standout elements that I feel compelled to comment on: the clever use of sexual tension with Piero, the brilliant inclusion of a ping pong room, and Lorraine's remarkable skill for interior decorating. When I came on here to look at the reviews after watching, I was disappointed to see numerous negative comments, mainly focused on her personality or the functionality of the show. To those critics, all I can say is that you either get it or you don't (YGIOYD). I found the show VERY entertaining, so much so that I was able to sit through the entire 3 hour series in one sitting. My favorite scene featured Lorraine manhandling a brick wall with a sledgehammer, grunting and swinging while exclaiming, "This is so satisfying." If you don't find that intriguing or funny, you need to get your humor checked. There are so many things I loved about this show that I don't have the time to list them all. In a world of spiritless HGTV shows, this was a refreshing change, and it's good to know that the channel still produces quality content. To all the haters out there, my advice is to get a life, go outside, feel the breeze, and touch the grass, or at the very least, gain a sense of humor. Whatever happened to fun? Joy? Pleasure? I'm waiting for it to make a comeback in 2024. In short, I would recommend this show to all ages. It is educational for children and entertaining for older audiences (lots of eye candy like Piero😍🇮🇹). Take my word for it and give this show a try - you will not regret it.
