Will give it a 6+1, it has potential. Not quite as polished as its competitors in the genre, i.e. Last Chance U, but considering it is at the HS and JV level, decent enough. It has potential.

Become part of the family as Texas 6 introduces you to the beauty of Strawn, Texas, and gives you an insider's knowledge of what it's like to play six-man football for Coach Dewaine Lee. This Jared L. Christopher project is visually stunning with a ground-level view so realistic you can feel the collisions between players, revel in their victories, and taste the disappointment of a loss. The spectacular cinematography wows time after time as the images in opening scenes will have you including the tiny town on your travel bucket list. It's an understatement to describe Texas 6 as a football documentary; instead, it's a beautiful introduction to a simpler life where people still look out for each other, and everyone escapes their worries to support the boys of fall.

I don't like football. I don't live in a small town, but this series hooked me. Wonderful storytelling and insight. I could not stop watching. Texas 6 will stay with you long after the series ends. I hope there will be a season 3.

Football is only a part of what this series is about. It is also about life in a small town in Texas. It digs deep into the heart and soul of their passionate high school football coach. The director highlights several of the players and tells their personal, and sometimes heart wrenching stories. Their stories will find you crying, laughing, and sometimes sitting on the edge of your chair. I loved this series and am looking forward to season 2.
Must Watch!!!

This is just not a football story in a small town! It shows another meaning to what passion and being a close family is all about! The ups and downs that go along with hard work and dedication! Must watch even if your a football fan or not! Do yourself a favor and watch it and stay tuned for more episodes!!! Can't wait!!
Gripping, true-to-life documentary

Really enjoying this documentary. Six-man football is not widely known. I'm glad the world is getting introduced to it. What's perhaps even more interesting than the Greyhounds' quest to a three-peat is the human element in this documentary. The young men depicted have grown up staring adversity in the eye and are beating it largely thanks to their involvement in the Strawn football program and leadership by their coach. It's clear that Coach Lee is the only father figure most of the players will ever know. He's teaching them life and the vehicle for that lesson is football. Recently watched the fourth episode of this documentary. It had me in tears. Looking forward to a new episode each week.

It is crazy to see the perspective that we are given a glimpse with Texas 6 into small town football, family and struggles and triumphs. I love this!! Coach Lee loves those boys like his own. Where else are you going to see this? Someone that is invested in his athletes, not only on the field but at home and in the classroom. It is a MUST WATCH!!! Go Strawn Greyhounds!!

Texas 6- The Glory of Small Town Football in Texas!
ken-343789 March 2021
Texas 6 is the best docu-series I have EVER seen about football in the great state of State of Texas!
Did you like Friday Night Lights on NBC a few years ago ? THAT was fiction but pretty close to real life.
Texas 6 is REAL...the town of Strawn is REAL...and Coach Lee and his players are REAL! There is no playing to the cameras. No lines.
This is how a small town football team with championship hopes deals with life on and off the field. The videography is incredible. Mr. Christopher earned the trust of the coach and the team and he is allowed unfettered access to all team activities.
GO STRAWN GREYHOUNDS !!

This show is fabulous. The town of Strawn lives and breathe their high school team. The players on the team are almost town celebrities. The coach is a saint, as he uses football to teach life lessons. I have alot of respect for him. Many of these boys come in damaged and bruised, but come out better. They are better prepared to take on life's challenges. You dont need 100 man roseter, big towns, and big crowds to experience victory, defeat,....althought on a small scale...the impact is HUGE here
Love It!!!

OMG - After watching soooo much of this now - let me edit my review. This is about soooo much more than just football - it's an amazing series and a tremendous display of respect, heart, and what it means to be human! Go Coach Lee and everyone else in Strawn - MIS!!! This is a fun series about small town Texas Football - it is well done and very captivating! Look, I'm from Texas - so I completely understand the importance of High School Football in a small community like this. I also just really enjoy watching the interactions between the kids, the coaches, and the community! It's just grass roots Americana here in a small Texas community. I'm loving every bit of it! This is what High School Football in Texas is really about - it's not just the big schools, it's not just the big money programs - at its heart Texas Football is about growing up, learning hard work and discipline - and being one with your family, friends, and community! Love It!!!
Great football series

Texas 6 focuses on 6 man football in the rural town of Strawn, TX. Even thought football is a main theme of the story, the show delves into the backstory and lives of the football players. There are a lot of hardships that some of the players have endured and you feel like you are a part of the community, pulling for the kids to do great things on and off the field.
I wish the show could continue so you see what happens to the next years' team under Coach Lee and to find out what happened to the players after graduating from Strawn and it would be great to see how they overcome hardships in order to fulfill their dreams, whether it's becoming a chef, a cowboy, or anything else. Thank you for making this show.

We are really enjoying this series. Hooked from season1, episode 1, and excited that season 2 has been picked up! Very personally follows the small town 6 man football team, its successes and defeats, and it's vital significance to the entire town. Having lived in a small Texas town and following the high school team brings back the fond memories of Friday night football. Keep it up! Thank you, Jared Christopher for the series, and also Eric Gillette for your original music. Wonderful!
