Love him or hate him, you can’t deny Hardwell‘s knack for putting out festival bangers engineered to make a crowd of thousands jump up and down in unison. Teaming up once again with fellow Dutchman and progressive house mainstay Dannic, the two-years-running DJ Mag #1 has delivered another piece of main stage euphoria with his latest release, “Survivors.”
A dramatic string section leads to anthemic vocals by singer Haris before surrendering to an explosive synth lead whose melody is certain to get stuck in the head of anyone who hears it. A unique percussive pattern during the buildup makes it more than just a progressive house carbon copy, striking an effective balance with the more mainstream elements prevalent in the track.
Hardwell and Dannic’s creative relationship dates back to their 2012 release, “Kontiki,” which marked the latter artist’s debut on the former’s label, Revealed Recordings. While Hardwell...

Back in November 2014, Google Play and Paramount Pictures announced they would create a documentary-style film inspired by the Christopher Nolan film Interstellar. Now, the product of the two companies’ partnership has arrived in the form of the short film Emic on March 17, 2015.
Named after the anthropological term for cultural analysis, Emic is comprised of videos from over 8,000 submissions from people around the world. The short film acts like a visual time capsule to show future generations what it was like living on Earth during the 21st century. Emic’s debut coincides with Paramount’s digital home entertainment release of Interstellar.
Google Play and Paramount’s Emic was curated by Nolan himself. The short film was produced by director and editor David Brodie (The Witness, Stand Up to Cancer’s Survivors) and creative director Angus Wall (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network).

Can everyone in the room who still watches Saturday Night Live raise their hand?
Okay, you two - now put your hand down if you genuinely enjoy it. Now put your hand down if you use SNL to put your kids, partner, or cockatiel to sleep.
Now stop pretending that anyone else in the room had their hand up to begin with, Brian, because you are seriously the last idiot in God's green acres who still gives SNL a shot the two or three times a year that it's not a Justin Timberlake rerun.
Saturday Night Live has become that distant aunt that the whole family pretends is doing just fine even though she is hoarding cats and crafting an army of creepy pantyhose children because no one wants to be saddled with the responsibility of actually having to do anything about her. It hasn't really been truly amazing television...

While there literally seems to be a film festival on every corner, I am hearing of more and more each day. Even in my own back yard of New York City, little did I know that I would be attending the 9th annual film festival in the quaint sea side town of Coney Island. Yes, on every corner of the world. While my boyfriend was at that very moment up in Calgary at their International Film Fest in Canada, I was at one of the best horror short line ups in the world that night. See what I mean by every corner of the world? Not to mention the Sitges International going on right now in Spain and who knows how many other festivals are happening as I write. I think one can make a tour out of it. But the Coney Island Film Festival was special in so many ways.
