- Emily: [after an outside encounter] Don't be scared. It won't hurt us. I look after it. I feed it so it doesn't eat Alfie or the other pets. Everyone pretends it's not real, but it is. I have to stop it from being bad. It's my job.
- Abby Maitland: It's okay, Emily. You can leave that to us now. Okay?
- Sarah Page: [sarcastically, about Cutter] Help, I've been taken hostage by an obsessive scientist.
- Connor Temple: Welcome to our world.
- Nick Cutter: [Connor is examining Cutter's anomaly model] Connor, if you touch that, you could change the entire destiny of the universe.
- Connor Temple: [Pulls his hand away] I'm not gonna touch it.
- Nick Cutter: Good man.
- Connor Temple: This is a 3D model representing all known anomalies throughout history.
- Sarah Page: All cultures have their own mythical beasts, like the Loch Ness monster.
- Jenny Lewis: My guess is where there's a myth we'll find an anomaly. All we have to do is date these myths accurately.
- Connor Temple: Like a road map of time.
- Nick Cutter: Then we can start to predict where and when new anomalies might start to open.
- Jenny Lewis: Call me stupid, but couldn't we have done all this on a computer?
- Nick Cutter: This way it's more tangible.
- Connor Temple: It makes him feel more like God. You know, the creation thing.
- Abby Maitland: his place must be worth millions. Why's it just been left?
- Connor Temple: The smell maybe. It stinks in here.
- Jenny Lewis: Abby. Have you ever been attracted to somebody that you don't even like?
- Abby Maitland: I fall for the wrong men all the time. One thing I do know if you're interested, don't wait for the man to make the first move cos you could die of old age before anything happens.
- Jenny Lewis: You going to take your own advice?
- Abby Maitland: Thinking about it
- Danny Quinn: Care to explain what you're doing here?
- Jenny Lewis: Just visiting.
- Danny Quinn: The way I see it you're either burglars or trespassers.
- Jenny Lewis: Do we look like burglars to you?
- Danny Quinn: I'm pretty sure I've seen laughing boy on a wanted poster.
- Connor Temple: Are you talking about me?
- Connor Temple: Can I just say that I think the police do a fantastic job? The occasional lapse into cliche is understandable in the circumstances.
- Sarah Page: This guy was eaten by a giant scorpion in the Silurian Desert. I'd say that makes him fairly dead.
- Nick Cutter: I didn't say it made sense.
- Captain Becker: All right. It's his identical twin.
- Nick Cutter: What's he doing here then, going through my laundry?
- Captain Becker: You killed his brother... so he steals your shirt.
- Nick Cutter: There's another option: Helen. Maybe she had something to do with it. She employed the guy before.
- Captain Becker: So now she's brought him back from the dead? That's scarier than I thought.
- Nick Cutter: You can't even begin to guess. Rule number one: something inexplicable happens Helen's usually behind it. Trust me, she's back.
- Connor Temple: This is a blatant miscarriage of justice. I demand habeas corpus. I would if I actually knew what it meant. I know my rights.
- Danny Quinn: Name them.
- Connor Temple: You what?
- Danny Quinn: Name them!
- Connor Temple: [Connor thinks. A phone rings] Phonecall! Come on, I get a phonecall.
- Danny Quinn: Good lad.
- Connor Temple: And, and, the right to remain silent!
- Danny Quinn: Well, you've lost that one, haven't you?
- Danny Quinn: You tell me what you were doing at that house with your pals.
- Connor Temple: ...I can't do that.
- Danny Quinn: Look, I know you're not a property developer, and you're not Oxbridge enough to be MI5. So, what?
- Connor Temple: One phone call. I'll clear the whole thing up. Please?
- [Danny walks off]
- Connor Temple: ... Is that a "yeah" or a "no"?
- Danny Quinn: If you go near that house again, none of your fancy phone calls will help you. Leave it to the professionals.
- Jenny Lewis: [Hands him a paper slip] Actually, It's now out of police jurisdiction. It's government business. So if *you* or any of *your* people go there again, *you'll* be trespassing. Leave it to the professionals.
- Abby Maitland: Who are you?
- Ryan Mason: Ryan Mason. I had to come back, I had to know the truth.
- Abby Maitland: Yeah? Well, your timing's lousy.
- Connor Temple: I just phoned Cutter. Told him he was right about his prediction...
- Jenny Lewis: What'd he say?
- Connor Temple: His words exactly? Something along the lines of
- [in a Scottish accent]
- Connor Temple: 'Course I was right!
- Danny Quinn: [after getting attacked by a creature] Antistab vest. Standard police issue.
- Connor Temple: I am so gonna get one of them.
- Danny Quinn: I suppose an explanation's out of the question.
- Jenny Lewis: Totally.
- Danny Quinn: Yeah, I thought so.
