All the jockeys in the film, were actual Bedouins from the Wadi Rum desert who were put through professional training along with their camels.
Due to unexpected heavy rains in the desert of Wadi Rum, there were massive floods and slippery grounds that production had to be put on hold for a week until the water somewhat dried out in specific areas for shooting.
The race scenes were shot in an actual camel racetrack.
The calf "Baby Hofira" had to be nursed by her mother thus production had to shoot the scene with the actual mother around the calf.
Shooting was in Bajda and Tabuk in Saudi Arabia as well as Wadi Rum and Dabbah in Jordan.
