A very nice journey.

I enjoyed very much this journey through Mauritania: beautiful landscapes (the mountains near Zouerat, the railway track seen from above, the oasis, the village on the hill and of course the desert) and nice encounters.

A lot of pleasant and nice encounters: with the passengers looking for the place where the train will stop, with the passengers of the blue wagon- traveling by train is cheaper than traveling by car or bus, the gold digger, the waiting at the crossing place-, with the farmer in the oasis-the irrigation system, the crops in the oasis, with the visitors who spend a moment of freshness in the oasis, with the women of the village of Toungade-the celebration of the divorce, the mother of the divorced woman singing, dancing and showing the papers of the divorce, the drums, the reasons of the divorce, her husband has broken the marriage contract-, with Saif at Chinguetti-the old key for the doors of his library, the old books and manuscripts about religion and sciences, the conservation of these books and manuscripts- and with the dromaderies shepherds- the animals drinking water at the water wee, the walk through the desert, the traditional scarf, the question of the shepherd to Philippe if he has a dromedary, the quietness and the beauty of the desert, the stop at the place where there is grass and bushes for the dromedaries, the campfire and the eating of the bread baked under the warm sand, the night under the tent-; very nice encounters with verykind Mauritanian men and women.
