Netflix has acquired global rights to Italian rom-com “Era Ora” (“Still Time”), marking a rare instance in which an Italian comedy is set to gain worldwide visibility.
“Still Time” is directed by Alessandro Aronadio, a Los Angeles Film School graduate whose first work “One Life, Maybe Two” launched from Berlin’s Panorama section.
The comedy stars Edoardo Leo (“Perfect Strangers”) as a workaholic named Dante who is perpetually late to everything important, and Barbara Ronchi (soon to be seen in Marco Bellocchio’s “La Conversione”) as his girlfriend Alice. The twist comes when Dante winds up leaping ahead a year in his life every few hours, just as he wants to slow down.
After showing up hours late for his 40th birthday party, Dante wakes up the next day and it’s already the day of his 41st birthday and Alice is four months pregnant. Then, upon waking up again,...

Sabrina Impacciatore, an Italian breakout star of the Sicily-set second season of The White Lotus, has signed with Gersh and Mgmt Entertainment.
The Hollywood representation opens a new chapter in Impacciatore’s career. She was mostly unknown outside of Italy before appearing in the second installment of the HBO series, which follows a new group of resort guests played by Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, F. Murray Abraham and others, and their intertwining love stories.
Season two of Mike White’s satire of the rich and miserable is set in Taormina, along the Sicilian coast, and Impacciatore takes center stage as the manager of the show’s titular luxury hotel. Back in Italy, Impacciatore rose to fame with roles in Paolo Virzì’s N (Io e Napoleone) and Gabriele Muccino’s 2018 hit There’s No Place Like Home.
She had a cameo as Seraphia in Mel Gibson’s 2004 blockbuster film The Passion of the Christ,...

Exclusive: The White Lotus breakout Sabrina Impacciatore has signed with Gersh and Mgmt Entertainment for representation.
Impacciatore is one of the Italian stars of the HBO smash’s second season, following the intertwining lives of employees and guests at a White Lotus luxury hotel in Sicily. The anthology created, written, directed and exec produced by Mike White had her playing Valentina, the tightly wound resort manager who falls for the concierge Isabella (Eleonora Romandini). While she’s annoyed for much of the season by the presence on the property of the sex worker Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and her aspiring singer friend Mia (Beatrice Grannò), she winds up sharing her vulnerability and a life-changing moment of physical intimacy with the latter. Mia is then able to realize a personal dream, as she’s granted the opportunity to perform for hotel guests.
The White Lotus has thus far nabbed 10 Emmys from 20 nominations for its two seasons,...
