Cody reduces cesium chloride with lithium metal in an electric furnace separating the low boiling, golden liquid cesium by distillation. Liquid cesium is quite reactive as shown by dropping it into water.

Caesium and tungsten are two of the densest elements so a salt of the two should be unusually dense. Since Cody has some left over Caeseum he prepares an aqueous solution to see what will float in it.

Cody picks up a kilogram of kombu kelp at a local Asian market. He reduces it to ash and dissolves the remaining salts in water. He separates the iodide by precipitating it as copper iodide. The iodide is reduced to elemental iodine with ascorbic acid and collected in a condenser on heating. A little alcohol creates a tincture to disinfect a cut on his foot.

As you know breathing helium raises your voice while breathing a heavier than air gas lowers your voice. what would happens if you breathe a light and heavy gas at the same time. Cody tries it to see what happens. Then he shares some physiologic aspects.

How much potassium is in twenty pounds of bananas? And is it mostly in the peel or the fruit? Let's find out. Cody is going to reduce twenty pounds of bananas to ash then dissolve the potassium (and sodium) salts. Then he'll precipitate the potassium as the perchlorate and convert it to potassium chloride by heating. Last step is to convert the salt to metal using lithium in his handy dandy alkali converter apparatus.

Bones are largely Calcium phosphate. So Cody decides to extract the calcium. After dissolving them and separating the calcium as the oxalate her uses a method pioneered by Humphry Davy who used electrolysis to reduce the calcium in a solution of mercury.
