An ending that concludes (but also opens in a good way)
romneyranjo19 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All i'll say is this show is GREAT and it deserves a second season. A very rare finale where all loops / arcs are closed - but also opens a new one, in case they get renewed. And that open ending isn't so OPEN unlike most Netflix shows. It simply gives the entire cast a fighting chance at what to write about next season.

But, best part is, you'll sleep knowing it ended great. You'll long for a second season - but you won't hate the network for making you wait a couple months or a year to release it.

SPOILER ALERT Plus that Ezra + Aria bomb is everything!!!! Really opens the world of guest stars from the original show. Hoping this one lasts long enough for us to see the original liars guest.

What an ending!
RebelPanda18 August 2022
This finale was all gas and no breaks! Every foreshadowed twist is revealed fantastically in this season finale. It gains momentum quickly and the pacing never lets up until the climax. I was happy with how each character arc culminated, both the daughters and the mothers have a satisfying conclusion that felt earned. The twists and reveals genuinely shocked me, but they were very elegantly foreshadowed. The production quality was top notch; great set design in the school, thrilling shot composition during chase scenes, excellently mixed sound effects, and the dark red lighting added so much to the tension. Original Sin was heavily inspired by numerous horror films, both new and old. As a massive horror fan I found it hugely satisfying to see such love for the genre. Moreover, the series carved it's own niche in the genre as a coming of age murder mystery slasher hybrid. They continued to grapple with mature themes with respect for the victims and did not let the perpetrators go unpunished. The greatest strength of the show is that it did not pretend to be a pretentious metaphor for mental illness or generational trauma, it told it's story directly and the themes came naturally.

Unsurprisingly there are many haters who continued watching until the end just to complain how little it had in common with the original series. I have a message for them: Times change.

A fantastic season finale to a great show! I can't wait to see more because the ending teased a sequel.

[6.8] Principal fighting and shooting

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 10: That was a well-done season finale on its own terms, the acting, further developments, reveals and twists were better. Truthfully, I wasn't impressed by the turns of events and realism of the episode, but as far as the atmosphere and the flow are concerned, that was done quite convincingly.

The ending and the hospital "events" weren't to my taste and I would have liked for Archie to be and remain with his sister Angela.

I understand that hardcore fans of the original PLL may think otherwise, I'm a fan too, but at the same time, all things considered, the series would be better off without a next (second season), especially after Tom's death. That would be more impactful.

The girls are nice and some easy on the eyes, but their shallow acting and charisma, won't equal the better OG Pretty Little Liars.

If a second season (better a final one) is greenlit, I would like it to be more tense, thrilling and bloodier.

The sins of the parents fall upon the child
gregorybates-7107120 August 2022
Sorry to say but those moms deserved every bit of what they went through. Their kids, not so much but I understand that as well that the sins of the parents fall upon the children. Great ending but I side with the villans on this one. That was clearly messed up for what those moms did to Angela Waters.

BAILEE MADISON DESERVES AN EMMY!

Warning: Spoilers
What a jaw dropping season finale!!! The reveal of A being Angela's brother, Archie Waters and Principal Clanton being Angela's father had me screaming! Such a twist I did not see coming! All of the horror elements really came in to light and I loved every single homage to films like those as well as the slasher elements. And that chase scene with IMOGEN and A! The fact that she was able to out run and stab him while she was pregnant and having contractions was impeccable!!! Bailee Madison is my favorite actress on the show and she deserves all the awards for her performance as Imogen Adams! And the mystery coming to a close about what the liars parents did to Angela Waters was shocking and so emotionally heavy! Also the topics that they talk about like sexual assault in suicide is impressively perfect and I really hope that ship is dead because what he did to Tabby and Imogen is unforgivable! This was a pretty solid season finale and I really really really need season two to be confirmed ASAP! I'm excited for what new mysteries Noa, Tabby, Mouse, Faran and especially Imogen get themselves into! I really fell in love with this new generation of Little Liars! And considering Archie is not dead, it's safe to say that he'll be back to torment the girls! Also, that Ezra and Aria mention means we might get some really special cameos next season! :) :)

It was great, tired of these people spamming bad reviews
calebamorgan18 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The finale was great, I was on the edge of my seat. The chase scene with Imogen and fight of her surviving Archie's attack was good. She really did give the ultimate "final girl" like she was described.

THANK GOD. The writers did not make constant references to the original. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Ezra and Aria adopting Imogen's baby, but I think I will like it and it's a good way to have them appear in the series in the future without it being so forced.

The A reveal wasn't THAT exciting but it made sense and I liked how it was done. It reminded me of a horror film, such as scream the way it was revealed. Which is what the series is going for using classic horror tropes, and all the girls are very likable.

The finale did feel a bit rushed in areas, but it was good and actually resolved season 1's storylines. I like the idea of them doing that rather than spend 6 seasons dragging out the identity of "A" causing many plot holes and inconsistencies.

My only worry is the reasoning behind A's motive makes it difficult to create more seasons. The main "liars" / girls aren't really liars or mean. They don't seem to have ever been mean. I get it's called original sin because their parents were the mean girls but after season 1 events why even continue attacking the main girls now?

I liked at times how A was basically attacking any bullies / bad people who came into the girl's life's but it takes away the purpose of them being the "Pretty Little Liars" and will make it hard for the series to go on.

Addictive horror series!
hnt_dnl23 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Horror being my favorite genre, the Pilot for this series drew me in based on that element alone. And I probably would have stuck with the show just based on the heavy horror vibe and aesthetic. But the reason that I actually became invested in this series is the excellent casting. I was unsure in the Pilot, but within a couple of episodes, I was impressed by the acting and chemistry of the 5 actresses playing the main characters: Bailee Madison (Imogen), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), Zaria (Faran), Malia Pyles (Mouse), and Maia Reficco (Noa). I have a GOOD problem with this show. I have no idea who's my favorite of these 5 characters. That's how well written, engaging, persuasive, and likable these young ladies are. Throughout the season, I found myself enjoying all of their conversations and bonding as a group and working together to solve the A mystery.

The collection of actors playing the supporting teens are well cast, too: Mallory Bechtel (who plays mean girl twinsKaren/Kelly), Carson Rowland (as Chip), Ben Cook (as Henry), Jordan Gonzalez (as Ash), and Alex Aiono (as Shawn). My least favorite characters are probably the Moms, but the casting is pretty uncanny in both the resemblance to the actresses playing the daughters as well as the actresses who play their younger selves. The show probably made the Moms a bit too uniformly 1-dimensionals and overprotective. But this is a minor nitpick as they all play second fiddle to the teens. The other adult characters like the Sheriff, the school nurse, the movie manager, and the ballet teacher are all interesting characters, too.

This show is an excellent homage to old-fashioned horror and the finale didn't disappoint. Much like the rest of the season, the writing, acting, editing, cinematography, camera work, music, and scene transitions are on point. Appropriately, the best chase scene happened in this finale after a season of great chase scenes. The big A reveal was extremely satisfying. The writers kept the story surprisingly simple and let their characters drive the plot instead of the other way around. One thing that I really liked about this finale is that it wrapped the story up to where a continuation is unnecessary. But this show is so good, I'd definitely watch a Season 2.

In terms of modern horror/slasher series, Season 1 of PLL Original Sin is definitely near the top. Probably my #2 all time. The only season I put ahead of it is Season 2 of Netflix's Slasher show, which is probably my #1 slasher season ever. AHS 1984 was a contender with a strong first half, but the second half was abysmal. Original Sin is much more horror-centric than PLL was and for me, that's a good thing as I found the original show veered too often into soap opera territory over the years. I feel as if the producers behind this show are dedicated to embracing the horror aesthetic throughout it's run and based on this finale as well as Season 1, this show has the potential of being one of the best horror series ever.

Incredible Season finale!
viggoped-2693428 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the show with my mother, because we're always making theories of our own, but we didn't predict the major plot twist! I would've never guessed that the principal turned out to be the one who knew everything, and that his son was the masked killer. Really impressed. Who knew Riverdales creator could write something that good.

The cliffhanger in the end, could lead up to a second season. Although I hope they'll not make the same mistake as Marlene King did. You know, a new A. And not an evil twin sister this time, we've seen that by now.

Really hope they'll get green light for a second season! And loved the mention of Ezra and Aria, perhaps they could make a guest appearance?

Gave this season finale a 10/10 because it really deserved it.

Not that exciting
austindreamcatcher18 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"A" felt like a side-plot this season, so the stakes weren't very high before the reveal, and Roberto ended up choosing an adult character to be the killer like he always does. Also, not a single rootable character died (the whole season), besides all the way back in the first 10 minutes of the show, and this series was marketed as a slasher.

The whole thing just felt a little off. "A"'s actions weren't very consistent, and I still don't get why the writers tried to argue that pretending someone is invisible is worse than actual r*pe. Also, what's really the point of "A" going after the daughters? It really doesn't make much sense, especially when "A" just kills anyone. Why does "A" kill Chip and Tyler instead of waiting for them to have kids? The girls didn't really do much, if anything, wrong the whole season, so it just doesn't make sense. I gave the inconsistencies a pass in the beginning because we didn't know A's motives, but they were never really explained.

However, I did enjoy watching the actresses give their all in these roles. I'd continue watching a S2 just for them.

A reveal is very disappointing
r-80708-3994919 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The last 3 episodes sucked. They just showed short clips back to back, instead of building suspense. Rushed & boring.

A is the freakin prinsipal?! His acting was mediocre. They really couldn't come up with something else lol?

Also, if Imogen's mom killed herself, who wrote the "A" on the wall? If she felt sooo guilty, she would've killed herself right after Angela did. And the whole Mouse and fake father thing was lame + never explained why she did it.

Not tuning in for season 2.

Terrible
chrisflores-8625922 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The ending felt so rushed and it was honestly so badddddd. Like it was a waste of my time watching it. Everyone hated the original pretty little liars ending because they made some random character we didn't even know existed A. Now, in pretty little liars the original sin they did the same thing all over again there was no way no one could've known who A was. The whole plot twist with the principal was cool but also annoying because no one could've known that. Terrible show. Pretty little liars the perfectionists was way better and it got cancelled.

Really disappointing
panagiotiszygouris27 August 2022
It was a lame finale with last minute reveals, with no clues about it all season long. The characters felt too safe to be killed and of course in Riverdale fashion, Roberto killed of a season that could've been awesome because everything was pointing to it until episode 8. It was too rushed with bad direction that sometimes actually felt good and sometimes horrible. It's honestly sad that they tried to revive a "franchise" that was so popular back in 2010 and yet they still managed to f- this up because Warner bros can't seem to be finding actually good writers. I'm still hoping for a season two but with less than 10 episodes so the writers can focus on the main story and not in irrelevant storylines.

Oh no, Oh no, Thank god its over
JT_1937518 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Last 3 episodes were so bad, you dont even see A doing anything, .. oh wait you see him in Imogens dream, twice i think? Lol. And after all A is not even "A" wwho planned eveything, just a vessel to do the "revenge" haha and we dont even see unmasking haha :D Story was so stupid and eveything was over so quick in the last eepisode.

And enings cliffhanger lol it vas so obvious when "A" or what ever it was didnt die and they took him to hospital.. everyone knew he will come back to life and come back.

Also Karen Kelly plot was useless.. no point of it or anything. Kelly wasnt Karen or not in this season(hopefully last)

And again refrences to original pll mention rosewood, ezra and aria like cliearly they are not in the same universum.

Give my time back please and finish this crap to sesason 1.

Stupid writing, bad, really bad acting and weak directing .. cancel this and lets forget this ever existed. Dont watch if you read first this review

Worst spinoff what they have made from PLL.

Finale wasn't as good as the rest of the show
tealeewoo12 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So, I loved the build up to this finale. The show was really good...much more suspenseful than The Perfectionists spin-off. But this is what I don't like. First of all, making the principal the one pulling the strings was pretty random. He didn't seem old enough to believably be Angela's father, and it was completely unnecessary. Knowing that A was Angela's brother was enough of a twist.

Secondly, and even more ridiculous, the girls' mothers were supposed to be targeted because they did something WORSE to Angela than sheriff Beasley raping her. They ignored her?! That's it???? Everything else the mothers did to Angela was far worse. Unless they're intentionally leaving something out, because the very first episode showed Angela begging for help. It looked more like she was assaulted that night, not before then. It just doesn't make sense that their huge "sin" was ignoring Angela. There should've been something more devious to make someone that angry and to make Davie feel guilty enough to take her own life.

It was kind of a lame finale to an otherwise really good show. I'm definitely going to tune in for the next season though! I'm hoping they fill in some blanks.
