- Life is blunderful for Lacey Dresse and her blundering ballerina friends in this musical collection of misadventures at a whimsical French ballet school.
- Lacey Dresse is a young ballet student with big dreams, but she and her charming, blundering friends are always turning La Petite School of Ballet inside out, upside down, and funny side up! Based on the Blunderinas book series, this is a whimsical, musical collection of misadventures for the starry-eyed dreamer in all of us!—anonymous
- Blunderinas is a series of loosely structured, song-filled misadventures (literally broken into chapters, like a storybook) that opens with eleven-year-old Lacey Dresse (Jordan Kobty), a good-natured ballet student with pink glasses, who introduces us to La Petite School of Ballet, in Paris, France. Through the opening song "Perfect Little Girls" we are also introduced to the other less-than-perfect students- a group of well-meaning but blundering young ladies.
"Chapter One" concerns Lacey's excitable best friend Coco (Courtney Noetzel), who is eager to snap a photograph of a famous dancer who has come to the academy. After expressing her unsinkable philosophy in the song "Never Give Up", Coco's plan ultimately results in Lacey climbing into a garbage can in order to secretly photograph the famous dancer. The scheme comes to a halt when Coco discovers that the famous dancer isn't coming until the following week, and poor Lacey gets a plate of spaghetti dumped on her head. Meanwhile, we are introduced to other "Blunderinas", including Tabby Van Stepp (Alex Spencir), who is always having something disastrous happen to her because of her flighty friend Pixy (Jazmin Powers), and two rival spoiled brats named Amelia Arabesk (Madison Bates) and Natalia Makarova (Britton Gomez).
"Chapter Two" begins with Lacey meeting a talented older student named Allie Allegro (Ashton Overbeck), and develops into "Top", a musical number where Lacey fantasizes about becoming a superstar. Then we move on to more blundering mayhem, with Coco trying to find out about a famous ballerina through a series of nonsensical telephone conversations. Meanwhile, Tabby and Pixy are helping out with a fundraiser for the ballet academy, packaging up cookies at a cookie factory, where Tabby gets knocked into a packing machine and ends up all wrapped up.
"Chapter Three" begins the Summer Intensive, and we are introduced to two more young ballerinas, snooty Monica Mezzanine (Madelyn Oden), and an overly energetic Chinese student named Ling Lang Toe (Jacquelyn Blomquist). As part of the Summer Intensive, the students take a class from guest teacher Mr. Leo Tard (Matt Kramer), who likes to make up his own ballet terms and conducts a thoroughly confusing ballet lesson. Later, Lacey, Coco, and their nutty French friend Chantal (Ragan Cantrell) are given "a little bit of private instruction" by Ling Lang Toe, who takes them through an exhausting series of exercises in the song "Ling Lang's Workout".
"Chapter Four" begins with Lacey receiving some helpful advice from Allie Allegro, but the chapter focuses mainly on bratty Amelia Arabesk and her never-ending fued with her stuck-up Russian rival, Natalia Makarova. Amelia expresses her pompous British feelings in the song "Prima Donna", and then comes up with a scheme to take Natalia's place during the rehearsal for the end-of-summer performance (in which Natalia gets a solo dance, and Amelia is merely her understudy). Amelia ties Natalia to a chair in the closet, but the rehearsal turns out to be chaotic, thanks to an unraveling tape and the pompous antics of two arrogant professional dancers (Bryson Funk and Natalie Kramer). Much to Amelia's dismay, the rehearsal is over before it ever begins, and she doesn't get the chance to show off her talents by performing the solo dance. Meanwhile, Natalia comes hopping into the studio, still tied up, but everybody has gone and she is left behind.
"Chapter Five" is the end-of-summer performance, including a montage of the performance and plenty of backstage mayhem. At the end of the show, Amelia gives Natalia a present, supposedly to make amends, but it turns out to be a one-way plane ticket to Russia. Natalia throws the ticket away and Amelia storms off in a huff, but it is clear the two rivals will be battling it out again when the new semester starts. Later, Lacey and Coco stop at Coco's apartment on their way home from ballet class, and Lacey realizes that with hard work and by never giving up, she might actually get to be a prima ballerina someday. But things return to normal when Lacey gets her skirt caught in Coco's front door, and she finally sighs and says to us, "Oh, well. See you guys at the next ballet class."
