Julianne Hough is the kind of actress that some look at and see classic beauty and talent that is present in abundance and could carry her quite a ways, while others might be doing the normal thing and looking for controversies that could arise from her career. Well the interesting thing is that both sides of this issue have been satisfied at one point since she’s been seen to be a very astute actress but has also been seen to bring about controversy when she decided to dress up one Halloween as Crazy Eyes from Orange Is The New Black,

The riots may be over, but the ongoing aftershocks continue to rock the ladies of Litchfield, following season six's heartbreaking finale. A guilty conviction, a crumbled friendship, and a cold plate of hard injustice serve up the opening of Orange Is the New Black's seventh and final season. Two of its most prominent original characters, and arguably a fan-favorite duo, remain at odds. The beloved friendship between Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson (Danielle Brooks) and Cindy Hayes (Adrienne C. Moore) is seemingly no more. But is it really done for good?
Taking us back to season five, one of the prison's most infamous guards, Desi Piscatella (Brad William Henke), is accidentally shot by his own men. In an effort to clean up the mess, the heat turns to the inmates during an FBI investigation, ultimately leaving Taystee sitting in the hot seat. Orange Is the New Black was technically the second of Netflix’s original series to debut, arriving five months after House of Cards in 2013. But where Cards was exactly the kind of antihero drama that had been made for years on cable TV (Netflix in fact won a bidding war with HBO for it), Orange felt like something new in almost every way. As the women’s prison drama enters its seventh and final season this week, it feels right to celebrate it as the first series explicitly designed for the streaming era,...

Fans of the Real Housewives of New York City know that Sonja Morgan loves prison shows. She dropped repeated mentions this season, including in one episode, while talking about her costar Ramona Singer, Morgan says, "Even prison bitches have their one person they're loyal to." Over at Oxygen.com, they got on the phone with Morgan to dish about what draws her to the true crime genre. And dish she did. She told us that Singer reminds her of "Crazy Eyes" in the prison show Orange is the New Black. She claimed her co-star flip-flops, just like the character in the prison series. “Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba says her character, Suzanne Warren a.k.a. “Crazy Eyes,” is finally growing up on the show’s sixth season.
“I think this season for Suzanne, it feels like she is choosing for herself for the first time,” Aduba said in an interview with TheWrap. “I think we’re watching Suzanne, this season, grow up a little bit in that way.”
The hardest scene for Aduba this season, she said, was in episode 1 when Suzanne was being interrogated and all she was trying to do was voice her frustration that she needed her medication.

Netflix already uses every opportunity to highlight its slate of original series and movies in its apps, website and on-screen menus. Now it’s using profile icons Netflix customers use to access their accounts to pitch originals, as well.
The streamer in the next few weeks is rolling out more than 100 new icons, including ones featuring characters from Netflix originals including “Stranger Things,” “Orange Is the New Black,” “Fuller House,” “Queer Eye,” “Money Heist” and “Marvel’s Luke Cage.”
“We know the series and movies on Netflix are more than just things you watch to pass the time,” Cathy Conk, director of product innovation at the company, wrote in a blog post. “The stories — and the characters in them — are also your heroes, frenemies, soulmates and everything in between. It’s summer, the weather is unspeakably hot, and tensions are running high on one of Netflix’s longest-running dramas. “Orange is the New Black” is set to return at the end of this month and, as the new trailer shows, no one seems happy.
After the tumultuous events of Season 5 that saw a riot engulf Litchfield, the stalwart inmates have now been moved to the maximum security part of the prison. There, the unity that these women showed as the emergency response team broke through their barricade, will be tested more than ever.
As part of a way to discourage a repeat of the riot, the Litchfield powers-that-be have separated max into three distinct groups by jumpsuit color. Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) is part of the neutral pink group, Piper (Taylor Schilling) is in blue, and a majority of the longtime series regulars are part of the khakis.

If you didn’t know her real name then you likely remember her as Crazy Eyes from Orange Is The New Black. A few years ago, Dave Bautista got into an argument with his agent. He wanted to turn the former WWE wrestler into a leading man, but didn’t want Bautista to take a role that required an Eastern European accent.
“I was really excited about it, and my agent hated it,” said Bautista. “When I asked why, he said: ‘Because if you do that, than you’re really just going to get stuck in this rut of being a character actor.’ And I said, ‘But I am a character actor. That’s what I want to be.”
It’s easy to understand where Bautista’s agent was coming from. Bautista’s a recognizable and extremely popular ex-wrestler with a mixed martial arts background and a physically imposing on-screen presence. There was a clear path for Bautista to become an action star. The problem was — that’s not what Bautista wanted.

Denis Villeneuve’s “Blade Runner 2049” is easily one of the most anticipated releases of the fall movie season, and it looks like everyone deciding to see the movie on the big screen is going to want to make themselves very, very comfortable in their seats.
The sequel is skipping festival season but has begun screening and sources say it runs well over the two-and-a-half hour mark. The exact runtime has not been confirmed by Warner Brothers yet, but Sony Russia has listed the movie at 163 minutes, which means we’d be getting 2 hours and 43 minutes of jaw-dropping Roger Deakins cinematographer.

Picking up thirty years after the events of the first film, Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming “Blade Runner 2049” is tasked with not only weaving a brand new story, but explaining what exactly has occurred since the conclusion of Ridley Scott’s epic sci-fi opus. In hopes of bridging that gap, the director tasked a trio of filmmakers to craft three ambitious new shorts, all set between the original film and his new sequel, due out later this fall.

Now that the Dowager Countess has retired, the Emmys race for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series is looking very modern indeed.
With all of last year’s nominees either ineligible — Dame Maggie Smith won for Downton Abbey‘s final season — or not making the cut, five of this year’s six contenders come from freshman series. The lone veteran in the field is Uzo Aduba, who’s already won a pair of Emmys for playing inmate Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in Netflix’s prison dramedy Orange Is the New Black.

‘Orange is the New Black” is filled with inmates running around — some of whom we care about and others are just background characters that are a little annoying at times. Gloria Mendoza (Selenis Leyva) Gloria’s one of the only characters on the show who gets a chance to contact the outside world and uses it for something other than Twitter and YouTube. The baddest cop on the force is back in action and ready to dish out justice to anyone who dares cross him...or is he? Choose Your Own McGurskey follows the story of "Crazy Eyes" McGurskey, portrayed by Ted Limpert (who is one-sixth of Bort). As you may have guessed based on his nickname, McGurskey is a loose cannon, and two years after he suffered a nervous breakdown, he's back on patrol and ready to lock horns with some former foes. For the third year on the trot, Netflix’s female-fronted prison drama series Orange is the New Black recently collected the coveted SAG Award for Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and for those of you who tuned in for the show’s excellent fourth season, you’ll know Oitnb was deserving of such an accolade.
Thankfully, it won’t be too much longer before the ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary return to Netflix, as the online streamer has officially locked in a June 9th premiere date for season 5, keeping up the show’s signature early summer release window. Welcoming the return of Taylor Schilling’s Piper Chapman, the all-too-brief reveal trailer teases that “things will never be the same” following the fallout of season 4.

It's just after 6 p.m. on a Friday, and Duff's – a noisy heavy-metal bar adorned with autographed memorabilia and jagged-looking instruments in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – has just opened its doors to the sober, work-weary masses. In the center of the room, a woman clad in a black dress and high heels is headbanging atop a carpet adorned with Iron Maiden's corpse-mascot Eddie. The music is "Bleed," an angular, machine-gun–like aural assault that's little over seven minutes long, by Swedish extreme-metal growlers Meshuggah. Bargoers sip their beer in the back,...

Ever looked into your sad empty locker, occupied by a sock and an old water bottle and thought ‘I wonder what Rick Grimes’ locker would look like?’ Well, luckily for you your imagining days are over. Now you can literally see how the other half live, or at least what they would put in their school lockers, if they had them.
Here is a sneak peek of what we believe your favourite TV characters would be stashing in their lockers:
Rick Grimes: The Walking Dead
Rick has been through a lot and as a result doesn’t have many possessions left. This is probably why his locker looks more like the evidence room in a police station than a place for storage, holding his trusty pistol and machete, ready for any zombie action that may be thrown his way. He keeps his old sheriff’s badge on the top shelf...

Good-on I Am Not A Serial Killer for never bullshitting its audience. We don’t even get halfway into this Dan Wells adaptation before director Billy O’Brien addresses the elephant in his title. As the film suggests, O’Brien’s main character is not a serial killer, so why waste time teasing something that isn’t true when the film begins (but might be later)? Such a suggestive name plays directly into an unexpected story for those of us ignorant to Wells’ source novelization, without any momentum to waste. I like surprises, and this is one of the better ones a genre fan can ask for.

There are plenty of reasons to love Uzo Aduba. She gives the best pep talks, makes inspiring award show speeches, and slays season after season as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on Orange Is the New Black. On top of all that, Uzo's cover story in Essence's September issue is chock-full of quotes that will make you want to punch your fist in the air. The Emmy winner touches on everything from perseverance in a difficult industry to how she maintains her self-esteem, all of which we can add to her long list of encouraging quotes: On the time she almost quit acting: "There have been times in my life where I have doubted, questioned, felt tired, but I had never quit before in my core. My heart never quit. And that was the first time I felt my heart give out on me." On her elated reaction to hearing she'd...

It's impossible to talk about Orange Is the New Black without talking about Uzo Aduba. As the scene-stealing inmate Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, Aduba has endeared herself to Netflix viewers since the series premiered in 2013. Aduba later won two Emmys and two SAG Awards for her gripping performance, validating her childhood dream of becoming a successful actress. Ironically, had it not been for the dramedy, Aduba may have quit show business altogether. "There have been times in my life where I have doubted, questioned, felt tired, but I had never quit before in my core. My heart never quit," the 35-year-old actress says in the September issue of Essence, on newsstands Aug. 12. "And that was the first time I felt...

The heat was on.
On Orange is the New Black Season 4 Episode 11, Piscatella turned on Caputo, which let the loose cannons on the Co staff break free. With dissension among the ranks, tensions are on the rise. How long before Litchfield devolves into a real life Stanford Prison Experiment – or has it already?
The flashback's to Suzanne's crime were heartbreaking in so many ways. Not just because of the tragic death of young Dylan, which she tried to stop, but because Suzanne clearly was not a capable adult even before her incarceration. It seemed like there were obvious ways that the situation could have been avoided.
And it was upsetting that this woman who was not able to really take care of herself was found competent enough to end up in a federal facility. She had no understanding that she had essentially kidnapped Dylan, and the death was an accident.

In most episodes, Netflix's women-in-prison Orange Is the New Black plays like a series of deftly observed short stories, exposing how the females locked in Litchfield Penitentiary lived on the outside and landed themselves in the clink. And in the recently dropped new season, showrunner Jenji Kohan devotes one of these deep-dive tangents to a formerly minor inmate named Lolly (Lori Petty), a paranoid schizophrenic who catches a fellow inmate in a compromising position and promises to keep quiet. Though she'd previously been a source for punch lines and/or pre-violence tension,...

Didn't anybody ever tell Soso that assuming makes an ass out of "u" and me?
After seeing a little more into her past, you'd think she would have managed to pick that one up on her own, even if her mama never told her. Maybe her short lived break up with Poussey on Orange is the New Black Season 4 Episode 3 will hammer that lesson home.
While Soso tried to be her own hero, Taystee rocked her promotion, Red clashed with Judy King, and Caputo finally accepted that he's a company man now. Piper's attempts to be la jefa became more absurd, and more obviously a cover for her own insecurity.
Poussey and Soso are basically the best at the start of "(Don't) Say Anything," but it's really hard to disagree with Judy King's assessment of their relationship. Things did advance too quickly, probably for a number of reasons, not the...

Fans are mourning the loss of a beloved character on Orange Is the New Black, as they unexpectedly had to say farewell this season to a Litchfield inmate who has been on the Netflix hit show from the start.
Spoiler warning: For those who haven't finished season 4 of Oitnb, plot details will be revealed ahead.
Poussey (Samira Wiley) is officially gone. Yes, you read that correctly.
Poussey, being the kind, gentle soul that she is, died trying to calm Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) down so she doesn't end up going to Psych. We all know how awful that place is.

Apparently Litchfield doesn't participate in #Fbf because "Work That Body For Me" was distinctly lacking in any origin stories this time.
While Orange is the New Black Season 4 Episode 1 picked up seamlessly from where Orange is the New Black Season 3 Episode 13 left off, the story it told couldn't have been further removed from what we saw a year ago.
There's riot gear instead of clowns, staff that is worn down bureaucracy instead of hopeful about a regime change, isolation instead of camaraderie.
There was a lot left unresolved at the end of Orange is the New Black Season 3, so I almost understand that not focusing on any particular character via flashbacks. Certainly it's been done before, but always in season finale episodes, where there multiple stories to wrap up.
It was a jam packed 52 minutes, and there wasn't anything that I would voluntarily cut for look into the past, but...

After four years, the story of Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren was told on Orange Is the New Black. Oh, what a heartbreaking story it was. Viewers already were clued in on a bit of Uzo Aduba's story when they learned the beginnings of her stage fright as she grew up, but now the series revealed her crime. Out in the real world Suzanne was a model employee at a Walmart-like store. She was a greeter with a bond with a number of regular customers, including a mom with three kids. But it's important to remember, Suzanne is not like everybody else. She bonded with kids over dinosaur T-shirts. After her sister, whom, she lived with, told her she was going away for a weekend with her boyfriend, Suzanne was left alone and...

Year by year, things keep getting worse and worse for the Litchfield Federal Penitentiary inmates, who have become the one fucked-up TV family we always look forward to visiting. It’s as much a testament to Netflix and creator Jenji Kohan, for showcasing the show’s diverse cast of incredible actors, as it is the power of television, which lets our relationships with characters, as technically one-sided as they might be, bloom and grow.

Six episodes were provided prior to broadcast.
There are nearly infinite reasons why Orange Is The New Black has resonated so loudly with so many people in such a short span of time. Its honest characters, juicy drama, and unashamedly blunt depiction of what life in a prison is like (as a woman, a black woman, a Dominican woman, etc) are bound to constitute a few of those. Others might appreciate Jenji Kohan’s masterfully laid-back tone that – after four years – still ebbs and flows into mouth-covering shockers with ease – which makes sense, given the woman essentially created the bedrock of the unforgettable season finale in Weeds.
I like its simple insights. Suzanne, aka Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba), has slowly been getting more to do – and be – since her pie-throwing meme-ifying in season 1 and, as things go downhill for her in season 4, she reminisces about the speechless cues her parents...
