Jeff Wall : Up until the 60's I was really a painter, I was interested in painting and drawing and I was interested in the way Western art had evolved all the way up to Jackson Pollock and after but that was all interrupted by the 60's, by the things that happened in the 60's, that happened to most young artists and photography was a part of that, photography was a part of the interruption of what you might call the fine arts by conceptual art and all these experimental forms and anti-forms that are associated with it.
