I can see why Melissa won the first film award as her second film is a different genre and quite entertaining to say the least. She has a great intellectual ability to bring out places in ones mind to "see" what the story really is about.
When viewing the film Melissa puts you "in" the young Asian girls mind and life and how she has to cope with tradition versus the new world for young Asian women. This film hits a home run and why it won the Best Mixed Category.
