Most of these people on reality TV are probably chosen because of their ability to be emotional in front of the camera to amp up drama. Wives tearing up because the reveal is so stunning is what they want, men too, if they can get it.

Christine was right about not painting that wood! I don't know why they didn't color test that wood stain for the floor before covering the whole floor with it to make sure it would match. It seemed like such a travesty to paint over that beautiful wood trim because the wood floor was stained too cool a color tone. I'm always sad when real wood details get slapped with a boring coat of white paint. Real wood is warm and inviting and charming. They should have ate the cost for the stain, because they missed the prep-step of making sure the color was right beforehand. They should have also left the French doors on, the missing hinges looked weird. Other than that, the renovation was very nice looking. I was sad that they didn't try to duplicate the original arch in the doorway, but that is time and time is money. I hope they eventually ripped the carpet up and restored those stairs.

I think Christine's refusing to be hands-on with the project is really what bit her, she didn't offer much oversight, and when stuff went wrong, she didn't have much foreknowledge about it because she wasn't there offering guidance about what she wanted or being there when something she felt was important was supposed to be installed to make sure it was right the first time around. She was basically playing telephone for the most part and getting exasperated when details weren't caught.

She's such a horrible person. I know folks say: it's in the edit. I wouldn't be surprised if John left her.
