Lovely bit of squirrel!

Friday night is the time for mum and dad, and their two sons to come together, and share the evening together.

The evening is interrupted by a man who's come to view the sofabed, mistake by Martin.... and neighbour Jim keeps popping in to use the loo.

Why has it taken me a decade to sit down and watch this, what's wrong with me! I absolutely loved every second of it, incredibly funny, who doesn't love a comedy about a dysfunctional family.

It's a little naughty, a little dark, a lot funny.

Awesome cast, Greig, Ritter..... all are just amazing.

Am going to love this, hilarious. 8/10.

The First Ever S*** On It!

The one that started it all, I was hooked from this very episode. Although it took me a while for this episode to get going, the second half was absolutely gut-busting. What initially seems like your standard "moving a large piece of furniture" comedy antics takes an unexpected and hilarious dark turn.

This episode does a good job at introducing us to our main cast. The two boys who are constantly pulling pranks on each other - the salt in water being the classic that appears in this episode and many after - and the dad who is always just a little too hot (and bothered).

This episode IS a little slow to get started, but the second half had me sold on this show with its hilarious and unexpected twists. And a conclusion that had me howling.

A very solid first episode. 8/10.

peak comedy

This episode never fails to cheer me up. This is PEAK COMEDY. I have watched it so many times that I can watch it in my head. My boyfriend only needs to say the words "Alan Davidson" to have me crying with laughter. I am not exaggerating when I say that this episode is the funniest thing I know.

Doesn't Hold Up as well

Warning: Spoilers
The story is fine. With Martin doing the clear out, clearing his magazines that he so desperately loves them and doesn't want to clear them out. So he goes and buys more, and Jackie is not happy. Yea this story was not all that good, it's way to predictable. The story isn't funny either, there's a couple of funny lines here and there but nouthing of note. Jim is the best character inside of Friday night dinner, he is incredibly awkward, and plays out like this kid version of an adult, doing stuff that's just really not normal. And things Adam and Johnny look 'so similar' lol. Johnny is the young one, and puts salt in drinks, and works as a person who sells houses to people. Jackie is the mum, she's the unfunny one. Adam is the older one of the 2 sons and sells marketing adverts for cars. Martin either makes a mistake or forgets things too easily, and hates Val!

Rating stands at: 5/10 Decent opener, but nothing special.

The Sofa-Bed

It's an interesting premise. A family get together every Friday that ends up in disaster.

Jonny and Adam play pranks on each other as they visit their parents each Friday.

In the first episode dad Martin goes shirtless as he is hot, eats from the bin and is meant to throw out his editions of New Scientist magazines.

Mum Jackie is more excited about the Masterchef final. Then there is the neighbour Jim who keeps coming round to use the lavatory. He obviously fancies Jackie.

There was promise in the first episode but the delivery was uncertain. Bit like the sofa bed trying to go down the stairs. There were a few laughs, an oddball comedy.
