The location used to shoot Celeste and Carlos' apartment was the real apartment the actress who plays Celeste was sharing with two other roommates. When the crew first got to the location early in the morning of the first day, instead of having the apartment all for themselves as arranged, it turned out one roommate was only going to leave on her trip later in the afternoon instead and the other roommate would stay in the apartment for the whole 7 day shoot due to a work-related injury he suffered the night before. He mostly stayed in his room, but occasionally came out and quickly put together meals in the kitchen, sometimes during a shoot.
Without the filmmakers consciously planning it, almost every time Celeste is on screen her head is surrounded by a halo. If you watch the film, you'll notice that there's always some rear light around her head, creating a halo, which reinforces her supernatural and religious qualities.
