While Lane is talking with his wife on the phone, he pulls a photo out of the wallet he found in the cab and turns it over to reveal a message written on the back ("X's & O's all day, Delores"). Later, after he finishes talking to Delores, he looks at the photo again and although the message is the same, the writing is in a slightly different position.
When Lane Pryce receives a call regarding the missing wallet he is looking at the "Birds Eye" client file on his desk. Notice that the Birds Eye phone number includes an area code. Area codes were introduced nationwide by 1966. However, the area code for Birds Eye located in Rochester, NY reads 585. Until 2001, the Rochester, NY area code was 716. The 585 area code did not exist until 2001, 35 years after this took place.
