Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThe news story about the rape and murder of Chicago nurses that terrifies Sally and Pauline was a true crime: on July 14, 1966, a drifter named Richard Speck broke into the residence of nine students attending the South Chicago Community Hospital School of Nursing. He methodically tied up all nine women, raped one, and then killed eight of them. The only surviving victim was able to identify Speck through an identifying tattoo. He was tried for and convicted of the murders and first sentenced to the death penalty, but after the US Supreme Court struck down the death penalty in 1972, his sentence was changed to eight consecutive terms of 50 to 150 years each. Speck died of a heart attack in 1991.
- GoofsWhen Greg returns from Viet Nam he is wearing a tan army dress uniform. That uniform had been replaced by the green uniform in 1954 and was prohibited from being worn after 1961.
- Quotes
Peggy Olson: Hold on a second. You want me to work up an entire corporate image campaign for ten dollars?
Roger Sterling: I can make you do it for nothing. I'm the boss.
Peggy Olson: You're right. The work is ten dollars. The lie is extra.
Roger Sterling: Incredible. What do you make a week, sweetheart?
Peggy Olson: Hmm, you don't know, huh? That's helpful.
Roger Sterling: You know, I could fire you.
Peggy Olson: Great. There's some portfolios in Joan's office. Maybe you could find somebody tonight?
Roger Sterling: [tormented] Why are you doing this to me?
Peggy Olson: Because you're being very demanding for somebody who has no other choice. Dazzle me.
Roger Sterling: Fine. How much you want?
Peggy Olson: How much you got?
Roger Sterling: [counts a wad of cash] Four-hundred dollars.
Peggy Olson: Give me all of it.
Roger Sterling: Jesus!... This better be good.
Peggy Olson: You want me to take your watch?
