A Masterpiece

I dont get how people are saying this is insulting to Arabic culture when it really are just teenagers living their lives.

Stuff like this happens all the time in our Arabic community but you all dont like to say it!! This show is an eye opener to serious mental health issues and discusses important topics that needed to be shed light on in our Arabic community.

And the name of the characters were really thoughtful too for example a character called "Shams" witch means Sun in Arabic really describes her as it felt like she was the one controlling all the characters and the other characters are just revolving around Shams and another example is "Farah" which means Joy/Happiness and it really describes her as even when people treated her badly she would still try to put up a smile.

Other than that yes i was kind of disappointed at first but then the characters were really relatable and their stories are kind of sad. The new bullies in this season are iconic throughout the season and especially Hiba. As she was emotionless and with no sense of guilt/pity.

Overall, this show really is important for speaking about issues that isn't really being talked about in our Arab community and it really does happen and nobody is every going to talk about it because I have seen it with my own eyes.

New Beginning

I was a bit discouraged 10 minutes in, as it appeared to be an exact replica of the first season but the direction it took later was a bit different and gave me some hope. I won't make any judgement about the rest of Seaaon 2 until I'm done watching it, but this episode alone is encouraging despite the first few lame minutes.

The show circles around girls in a private school in Jordan who are different - some are bullies, some get bullied, some are wealthy and attractive and others aren't and from there it gets to touch on a couple of social problems affecting the society where women eventually victims of unjust laws or traditions. Just because there are very few shows coming from Jordan, it would still be unfair to expect a single show to be an exact representation of the entire society with all of its complex problems. The type of people in this program are a small fraction of the Jordanian society however the problems it addresses are universal in the Jordanian society.

It was okay

Season 2 falls far short of the excellence established in Season 1; the pivotal decision to replace the original cast was a really bad decision. Having eagerly anticipated this season for two years, my anticipation was met with disappointment. The acting didn't meet the established standards, undermining the overall performance of the series. Furthermore, the plot lacked the captivating depth that made the first season so compelling. In addition, I felt it was repetitive of the first season and introduced nothing new, merely new characters. Overall, the second season could have been better, super disappointed.

Hot Garbage

This show is insulting for the Arabic culture. It was written poorly, no good scenes, no good dialogue, and same formula from last season.

Most of the good reviews come from ignorant Jordanian people who want to support their product mindlessly, giving this episode more than 2 stars is a crime. This show is 4 stars at best, may be good and fun for mindless watchers but that doesn't give it more than 4 star review.

It's just a product of Netflix dumb way of making money effortlessly, but this time instead of making a dumb western highschool show they made the same show but with Middle Eastern people instead. Same culture and traditions of the west, but on Middle Eastern schools which makes it dumber than these stupid idiotic and boring these American highschool shows is.

If we aren't talking about how poorly they captured Arabic traditions, we can talk about how poorly it was directed.

The acting looks like its a school play by kids and not even real actors the dialogue is aimless and a waste of time, sometimes only the cinematography is good, but that's from time to time and it's very inconsistent just like everything else in the show.

Terrible Season
ILuvTonks21 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Alrawabi School for Girls is all about tiktok, getting "likes" on videos and being an influencer. It's ridiculous that they've cast such strange and unattractive looking women to play the part of popular 16 year old high school girls. Hilba must be in her 40's playing a 16 year old. Writing is bad and acting is terrible for the most part. This show makes Jordanian girls look stupid, needy and clueless to the real world. Are Jordanians really uneducated silly people? It would have been nice to see young women striving to do well in school and wanting to make something of themselves rather than shallow "jobs." Very boring show. Is it drama, comedy, coming of age, what? Why do they speak English in the middle of Arabic sentences? Is it to be assumed that Arabic and English are learned simultaneously and the language of the land?

Don't waste your time with nonsense. There are much better Netflix shows.
