Terribly disappointing follow up to Season 1..
Movie-Guy-654 December 2022
The second season is so vastly poorer than it's fantastic first season, it's almost like your watching a different show

The writing and direction is poor and lacklustre. The chemistry between Michin and Alcock that was such driving force during previous season is barely present and feels forced.

It's so disappointing after the smart, sharp writing from Minchin & direction from Matthew Saville from season one we how have a show that seems to have lost it's spark.

Upright Season One was great Aussie TV. Season 2 is ordinary Aussie TV and is, unfortunately, that one extra season we didn't need.

Warning: Spoilers
So, we're not even going to get Lucky and Meg on the road? Ridiculous. That was a huge part of the fun in season one and hopefully we can get some of that moving forward in future episodes.

The pregnancy announcement feels like a stretch and the kind of stunt I don't think the show needs, but who knows at this point. It feels like it can be fun and I tryst this show to entertain us and make us laugh along the way.

Not as hooked as I was after season one, but definitely looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds in the next six episodes of The Adventures of Lucky and Meg as they tour Australia.

Upright.

Warning: Spoilers
Away we go, back to chaotic normality. Though the episode's fine, not much happens. Lucky says Meg's important to him, but changed his number and never lets her know. The mother abandoning the children like that's about as cold as you can get, so there's no resolution there. The music tracks have been good and timely. Every person having a video recorder on them these days and the ability to instantly share it with the world, must be pretty annoying for certain people and in general for everyone in certain environments. Haven't encountered such a problem myself, smashing their phone wouldn't be a stretch.

Episode 2
Prismark1014 December 2022
Meg and Lucky go to Queensland to look for her mother. A search that might not be easy as Meg is following in from information that is years old.

They go to a bar that her mother once worked in. It gives them a lead to a care home.

There is also a young man that seems to be stalking Meg. Maybe they are connected somehow or that Meg is running away from something.

Even the second episode shows sign of a series that is struggling. The main hook of the search for Meg's mother is not strong enough.

The comedy is forced, like a random person videoing the conversation at the moment where Meg announces that she is pregnant. When the video is uploaded, people think that Lucky is the father.

The best bit was the residents of the care home being sick and tired of watching Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe for the umpteenth time!
