I attended the Tennessee Shorts section of the Nashville Film Festival in September and was able to watch this short film by new writer/director Jaran Huggins. The power of the story not only resonated with me but with the entire audience. Sheet Music is so eloquently told and brilliantly directed and performed by Ty Norwood and Leilani Rosine. The music which I believe was written by his Brother was a resounding yes. For this to be just an undergraduate college thesis, the heights to which this new director can reach are unlimited and unprecedented as far as this early on. Jaran's q&a was also highly impressive and intellectual. He is an exceptional young man with an innate ability to translate his vision to vast audiences. The only problem with Sheet Music was that it was too short, this needs to be a feature film which Jaran Huggins already seems to have plans for.
