Forgot how much Daniel has developed as a character in the manwha
Tasteless_Critic_Takes9 December 2022
Looking back, Daniel was such an awful person in this episode. I get his pain but he's so annoying.

I can't really comment on how I find the art and animation yet, it's a tad touchy but the shading on the environment is really good. I was slightly disappointed by the character design and visuals in the intro though I know the story is great though, so for you who haven't read the manwha, stick with it, it does get better, and the action replaces the drama a bit, although arcs dip between stalkers and drugs and other dark topics.

I don't know how this will be adapted, but surely some stuff will be cut from the show.

Follows original story

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode does follow the original story but the animation feels like im watching a kids cartoon instead of an actual anime. Its sad to see one of the best manwhas go with this kind of animation. The character designs are pretty alright as i mentioned before the art quality is cartoonish. The pacing of the story is pretty good but it feels like they are skipping some important character development scenes. Hoping for a season two and I still have hopes for the future as the story turns into more of a gang fighting story. Hopefully we see the animation get better as the story progresses.

Sadness and anger watching this. Intrigued to watch the next episode

Warning: Spoilers
TLDR: good pilot, felt so much emotion watching this. I created an IMDB account just to review this.

Disclaimer: I have not read the webtoon prior to watching this so have no idea if this follows the source material.

I was looking for a show to find while walking on the treadmill at the gym and came across this show. I began watching the show and felt both sadness and anger at the same time because of the circumstances the MC is in.

Seeing the interactions between the MC and his mom tore my heart apart. When his mom came to stop the bullies from hitting him in gym class and the MC decided to scold his mom for being embarrassing, that was sad to watch. And it's a totally reasonable reaction for the MC to have since it IS embarrassing at that age/time to have his mom stand up for him in front of the whole school. Also, that ramen scene with his mom prior to this broke my heart too. Seeing him release his frustration out on his poor mom while she made him ramen and also complimenting him on his humming/singing, I just felt so much pain and sadness. The mom clearly loves her son and wants the best for him and I can't help but root for their relationship and for him to make her proud.

I felt immense anger and pain seeing the MC get beaten up and mistreated throughout the pilot. It's undeserved the amount of punishment he is getting and I was so pissed while watching this. I want the MC to succeed and am rooting for him.

I'm not sure what the direction this show is going towards and what message it's trying to say about South Korea's "beauty-first" society. As the MC changed his appearance, that was the only time he received positive comments directed at him (other than his mom complimenting him). I hope this show doesn't go in the direction where you have to look like this to find success/happiness but I highly doubt that will be the case. I'm intrigued to find out more in how this plays out and will continue to finish this show.
