Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • unrealistic and not graphic. As Ryu you defeat your enemies with your sword, shurikens and magic fire powers, They simply disappear right when they are defeated.
  • Some characters get to die in at least two cutscenes, and a bit of blood is shown in one of them.

Profanity

  • The word "Thank God" is used in the NES and SNES version.
  • In the 1995 SNES version of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, the mild swear words "Damn" and "Hell" is included, it's possible it was censored on the NES. It's unknown how it got past the Nintendo Censorship.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Most of the bosses and enemies have a creepy and even disturbing appearence and behaviour, but since this is an NES game their appearence is not very well detailed.
  • Some of the characters deaths that are shown in the cutscenes can be emotional and a bit deprssing.
  • Suggested ESRB rating: rated E10+ for Animated Blood, Cartoon Violence, Mild Language
  • This NES game can get very hard and often times frustrating due to enemies re-spawning and Ryus sword being a clumsy weapon makes it one of the most difficult video games ever on the NES.
