The Season 8 premiere of How I Met Your Mother picked right of from how Season 7 ended. There's Quinn, Barney, Robin, Lily and Marshall all at the apartment adoring Little Marvin, while Ted is out running away with Victoria. Quinn ends up finding out about how Barney and Robin used to date from the sleep-deprived Marshall and Lily, who are notably worn out through the episode. This conflict was rather predictable, but it still could've been handled better. The conclusion with Robin having a boyfriend called Nick who's super hot ending all discussion about the conflict was somewhat rushed and displayed choppy writing that some of this episode had. However, that can be overlooked because of Ted's storyline. I personally found this to be the more interesting storyline and that Ted's constant failures to leave a note for Klaus to have closure between Victoria and Klaus pretty funny. I think the end was what really made this episode memorable, the flash forward showing us how close we are to the mother, which is something we've been waiting a long time for.
9/10 Amazing.
+ Ted's leaving the note behind storyline was strong
+ We're so close to the mother.
+ Marshall and Lily provided a decent amount of laughs.
