Not really worth the budget.
tlmuana2 July 2016
Is the budget really INR 1,100,000?

Considering the budget, it could have been better. Especially the village, it should have been constructed more realistic at that budget. Good considering other Mizo films, but it's below my expectation. may be I expected too high. The costumes, sets, environment and the characters sometimes look way too fresh for a mid 19th century Mizo society. Still, it's a milestone for the Mizo film industry, as it is the first ever serious Mizo historical movie made. Some of the action sequences were actually good and worth watching. I think the movie is a pioneer in Mizo film industry in catching up with other bigger film industries around the world. I like the way the film makers dramatize and alters some of the historical facts. One thing should be kept in mind though: The movie is only based on true historical event, not a true to picture representation of history. So, one should not expect it to a documentary-like rendition of the history.

Great movie for a very small budget

Great effort from the whole team, considering the budget and limited resources. Let me be objective here, without any prejudice. I am going for an 8/10. A typical village was created which, I believe, was an arduous task. The creation would, no doubt, attract critics. At first glance, it was apparent that the film was made in haste. The village looks like an 'uninhabited habitation' - It was a bit too fresh. Audio mixing seems to be out of line during certain instances. Having said these, one cannot but applaud the team who made the movie. It must not be compared with Hollywood biggies although the film is somewhat similar to the likes of 'The Last of the Mohicans' and 'Apocalypto' - at first sight. THUMBS UP AGAIN

this is the worst representation of mizo history i have ever seen , "Garden Evil" is a better mizo history film than this

House number 109 was better. This director has no clue about mizo history. The budget was 11,00,000 yet looked like a video made by some youtuber with a shitty camera. bad lighting, bad writing, bad dialog, bad actors, also it is not similar to "Apocalypto" or "Last of the Mohicans". That mizo film where the guy dies because of his mother's love is better than this. The way the movie presents mizo history is a sham.A big budget compared to other mizo films yet delivers nothing original or great, some of the older mizo films with their tight budgets and shaky cams provided better movies. The guy on the cover with the big nose ruins the film for me.

Best Mizo movie film in terms of editing!

No other Mizo films have come close to the editings of this film. This movie was way ahead of it's time for the Mizos. The acting is brilliant and the characters are interesting. Best Mizo film hands down!
